Morning
I'm sorry that I'm only updating intermittently at the moment, but needs must and all that....
Anyway - the latest news is that we've smashed through the target for the second batch - 1,000 shirts pre-ordered there, which if you take into account (say) 50 shirts that will be duplicate orders or mistakes etc, then we're there or there abouts.
Viga continue to be supportive of everything we're doing here and we had a long chat last night and they're going to give us an option o the next 500 shirts.
Ie: IF we can get another 500 sold thru' in the next week, then they'll join the second batch of 1,000 and get distributed here by the end of August. if not, then we'll make what we've got orders for and they'll be here by that date - NOW THAT WE'VE SOLD THAT SECOND 1,000 THEY'LL DEFINITELY HIT THE END OF AUGUST DEADLINE, SO WELL IN.
We were always going to include a flyer, but the idea of the giveaway tear strip idea from Red Richie is brilliant, so I'll have a word with the printers and get the quote updated on that.
The only issue here is postage etc - Viga will insert anything we want (please lads....) for a pretty small fee (again lads...) but if we start tipping the scales then the postage goes up quite a bit, and we haven't got enough spare pennies to be able to absorb any significant additional cost.
Play it by ear I reckon....?
Other publicity etc - I'm happy to take a look at anything that we can to get the message out there, but I still think that we need to get our heads around the journos and ex-reds/hi profile supporters.
There's no point in us just shouting up for Nelson Mandela or Bill Clinton or whatever, we need to be confident that:
A. They'll definitely wear it
B. They'll definitely wear it for a photoshoot / or give it some publicity somehow
C. We KNOW how to get it to them
So, we've had some great ideas for who, but I need to start organising this now - we're going to get the shirts arriving here in about 2 weeks, and we need to get the press as soon as possible if we're going to be in a position to get Batch #3 out at a decent volume in a quick turnaround time.
C'mon.
Jonny.
