Heard he's on Celtic's radar.I wish Dani is a loyal lad.

Only on a loan basis however. I would love him to get the experience out here and not to mention that he'll more than likely play regularly in the season that we loan him out than he would do while at Liverpool.

A) Spain keep taking him away every time there's a window of oppurtunity for him.
B) Minor injuries ruling him out of games he could feature in, especially in the Europa League
C) Haven't often had the oppurtunity to bring him on at 3-0 up, or when the game's safe

Nope. Last season, Insua played 8 or so games, and is now seemingly our first choice left-back. I think this season, Pacheco was supposed to play his 8 or so games, before slotting into the team more regularly next season, but it hasn't happened

It looks like he's been doing well with the Spain u-19s. They drew the first match against Norway and beat Turkey in their qualifying group.

Four-time winners Spain needed an equaliser from substitute Rubén Rochina to rescue a draw against Norway on the first day of action in UEFA European Under-19 Championship elite round Group 4.

Both teams had chances in an entertaining first half with Liverpool FC forward Daniel Pacheco a lively presence for Spain and Thomas Lehne Olsen regularly threatening for Norway. It was the latter who struck first, finishing off a fine dribble with a precise shot a minute before half-time.

Pacheco helped Spain get back into the match, striking a post seconds before Rochina – who had only come only three minutes earlier – levelled in the 62nd minute. Norway can stay in the hunt with a win against Azerbaijan on Friday, when Spain cannot afford to lose to mini-tournament hosts Turkey.

Spain are on course to reach the UEFA European Under-19 Championship finals again as they overcame a spirited effort from Group 4 hosts Turkey in an eventual game in Eskisehir.

Spain coach Luis Milla made four changes from Wednesday's opening draw with Norway for their meeting with a side who won their first game, and was rewarded within nine minutes, Daniel Pacheco crossing from the left for Keko to control and shoot in. The lead proved short-lived, Özgür Çek squaring for captain Necip Uysal to apply a simple finish and level the scores in the 14th minute, but Spain regained the lead a minute before half-time, Thiago Alcántara heading in another fine Pacheco cross from the left wing.

Again Turkey's response was swift, Muhammet Demir coming off the bench at half-time – the influential Emre Çolak having to be replaced due to injury – to level within three minutes, converting Ali Kuçik's assist. Spain struck the decisive blow in the 54th minute, however, Oriol Romeu heading in what proved to be the winner, although Rochina could have made the final margin more comfortable only to be denied by Özkan Karabulut in the closing stages. Four-time winners Spain will therefore qualify for the finals again should they defeat Azerbaijan on Monday, but if they drop points Turkey will pip them by beating Norway.

Luis Milla, the Spain coach, said: "During the first half an hour Turkey were better than us, putting us under a lot of pressure. However, our team talk at half-time was very influential. I told them to pass the ball more. We controlled the game with our attacks and balls lofted in behind the Turkish defence."

Hopefully hes given a chance in the future, i won't hold my breath insua has been the only one given a real go in the first team by rafa, and if aurelio was fit i doubt that would have been the case, Most of our youngsters are just brought in to make a profit when we sell them on, so im not going to get carried away regarding pacheco chances.

I think a loan to celtic would be great for him. He's gonna be playing against bruisers which will force him to strengthen up, probably a touch stronger than he would need to be in the prem.

We'll also see whether he can put his skill and pace to good use against a higher level of opposition willing to bend the rules and kick the flashy players till they're quiet.

These are things we don't know about him yet, and things he will need to learn if he is to slot into our side smoothly.

I just hope this is the thinking rather than profit hunting. If pacheco doesn't make it i'll lose all faith in our youth system.

Spain are through to the u-19 euro championships in the summer. They beat Azerbaijan 4-0 and Pacheco apparently got another assist for the 2nd goal.

Spain swept into the UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament for the fifth year in a row with a 4-0 defeat of Azerbaijan in Eskisehir.

Luis Milla's side needed to win to make sure of edging out mini-tournament hosts Turkey and Norway and claiming first place in Group 4, and duly began brightly with Rubén Rochina twice and Thiago Alcantara going close in the early exchanges. The opening goal finally arrived in the 29th minute, Rochina holding off two defenders to score, and two minutes later it was 2-0 as the FC Barcelona forward turned in a fine left-wing cross from Daniel Pacheco.

The points were effectively secured in the 36th minute, Thiago converting from the penalty spot after Tural Isgandarov had been penalised, although Spain kept pressing forward in the second period. The fourth goal duly arrived with 20 minutes left, Rodrigo Moreno scoring at the second attempt after Salahat Aghayev had saved his header from Sergio Gontan's cross, while Azerbaijan – who finish in fourth place – ended with ten men after substitute Elgiz Karamli collected a second yellow card in the 86th minute.

"We drew our first match, because all the teams were in good physical condition then," said Milla, who also led Spain into last summer's finals in Ukraine. "After that, we've played [two] matches when the teams were tired, which is why we beat Azerbaijan by this score. Everything was even until first goal, and it was important for us to get it as quickly as possible."

Darren Potter?  Steve Warnock? Neil Mellor?  John Welsh got more than a few games as well.  You may say they were a few years ago but standards have been raised since, and Kelly has been eased in as his performances have deserved.  If Darby and Spearing had made more of an impression with their chances they might have been given more games as well.

I dont understand why we would loan Pacheco out to anyone. He seems to be coming along very nicely. The lad looks a class act and i'de love to see him on the bench and used more often.

pacheco and ngog look mint together in reserves, i think the will both be great players in the future. main problem is that they are small built and the prem demands more. look at arsenal for example, i think all their( younger) players get injured at one point in the season. a little bit of work in the gym and the odd 1st team game and he will be set to go! looks class!
