I suspect its all to do with nationality.

And his fierce need to protect his reputation as the best ever player. He does seem threatened by his crown being stolen. Of course, in some people's eyes, it already as been.
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

he's just an old man with erection problems whose only thing he has now is being the best footballer ever, i think he now realises he's no longer the best footballer, it is to Messi's credit that Pele can't stop talking about him.

Pele's a mixture of senile, bitter, egotistical and just plain wrong. Has been for years.

;D Bravo Maradona.
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

He smashed into a truck at over 50mph at night, spinning the car 3 times.

Both him and the truck driver were at fault. Garrincha was driving without his headlights on at 50mph at night and the truck driver fled the scene straight afterwards. He denied that he was drunk at the time and the police left it at that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

I think brazilians would argue otherwise. Alves has failed to produce his barca form for brazil anyway and neymar is really that good.
