edit: I assume you're flying to banesa airport. If not then forget all that :-[

i am flying into banesa Baz :D

thanks for more info, taxi drivers try to distract you and won't tell you where the bus is, not getting caught out a second time, my taxi driver was sound the first time and it cost me 50 romanian which i found out later was about the going rate from the airport to university square.

have a good one, roads look ok at the moment!

Has anyone who's flying with Blue Air been able to check in online or do you have to do it at the airport? It won't let me do it online but I just wanted to check that it wasn't a mistake.

Just had a closer look at the website and it says that online check in is only available for flights leaving Bucharest.

Stuck at Luton -Blueair flght should have gone at 10 - incoming flight from Bucharest hasn't even left yet as still grounded due to freezing rain apparently - not looking too promising :(

Can't get any flight info up for banesa but flights are departing from the other airport a few miles down the road. They are 3-4 hours behind schedule though. Fingers crossed the 3pm estimate is accurate.

Just spoke to somebody at the info desk, flight still hasn't left Bucharest but theyre not going to cancel the flight. He did say that we should get a refund as we are going to be delayed for more than 5 hours.

Edit: now being told its delayed til 5.30pm. Spoke with ny friend in Bucharest, she says there's no sleet there just light fog.

Nightmare for flights today to Bucharest from Luton because of the iced runway at Baneasa airport and therefore cancellations and supposedly with Gatwick being closed as well. I know some on the cancelled Wizz Air flight from Luton managed to get on flights from Heathrow later today and some of us managed to get on tomorrow mornings Blueair flight from Luton.

Every trip seems to bring new problems this year as we've said before!

Good luck to everyone making their way there.

I managed to transfer onto the blueair flight tomorrow morning but as I'm meant to be visiting friends as well as going for the match, and with my return flight scheduled for 8am Friday morning, I wanted to try and change my return flight to a later date. The blueair girl wasn't having any of it and was only letting me transfer my outbound flight. At 1 point I was happy to jack it in and cancel my flight all together so that 1 of the other lads trying to get on tomorrow's flight could go but she wouldn't allow anybody to take my seat, whether I cancelled or not.

Not sure what's happening now. I guess I'll try and find a seperate return flight and see if my insurance will cover it.

I think that was me that was trying to take your change but as you say the lass wasn't even contemplating it. I ended up cancelling both my flights but have managed to get one out of Heathrow in the morning.  Hopefully I'll have better luck from there.

If you're flying from Heathrow then you'll be going to the other airport, Otopeni. Touch wood, you should have no problem flying there. It was running today and I flew there last November when there was 10inches of snow and it was still open.

Good luck.

I thnik I must have been at the front of that queue when BAZ87  tried to transfer the flight to you -I missed out by I person - was on the verge of booking 22.15 from Heathrow via Athens but in the end thought 'fuck it' and cancelled the lot - just got home seriously pissed off

i'm done and calling it a night and the whole trip off now, good luck and all the best to the ones i've met today and hope it goes well for you all.

i'm at a hotel in hampstead london as i've drunk too much to drive home, weather around london looks awful for tomorrow now to boot so hoping i can get back home.

2 cancelled flights and two different airports and i've had enough, rhylred, macco and the rest by all accounts managed to get the 1730 BA from terminal 5 and i think have now touched down safe and sound, gutted i had to miss this and hopefully their will be more in the future.

night night all and all the best

How much extra would the Athens flight of cost mate?

I'm so depressed today, got two more days booked off work wasted aswell.

How much extra would the Athens flight of cost mate?

I'm so depressed today, got two more days booked off work wasted aswell.

it was £213 - there was at least 6 hrs to get from Luton to Heathrow to make the first flight so could easily have been done -  I had filled in all my card details etc and was about to 'click' to book it when I bottled it.  Someone said there were delays at Heathrow and there might have been a chance of missing the connection at Athens .

After a similar experience on the way to Naples when we missed a connection due to delays at JLA and ended up kipping at Milan airport ( and forking out an extra £350 ) I thought I wouldn't risk it and may as well cut my losses and go home  - fully expecting to get stranded somewhere on the M6 or something similar ( there was actually no problem with the roads home).

As it happens it would have been ok as the flight from Heathrow got to Athens with enough time to make the connection.  Just as frustrating is the fact that the Blue air flight this morning looks ok - the last seat on that went just as I got to the front of the queue.

Not long ago I'd have had no hesitation in going for that Heathrow/Athens flight but maybe I'm losing a bit of that inner fire that I've had all these years .
Quite looking forward to a day and a half of chillin out now although probably be mega pissed off while the match is on.    Was supposed to be back in work tomorrow afternoon anyway so won't have the worry of not getting back in time on friday morning.

Good effort GeeFJay, 11/10 for your efforts to get there but understand how fucked off you must have felt. Hope all the others that got there had a good session. Sorry I couldn't make this one Matchball and lads (work & all that shit) but bring on more great away days topped off with Dublin in May. Shouldn't be snow & ice then! But fuck knows hell could freeze over and we could be League Champions soon.

Massive respect to all those that didn't manage to get there after trying so hard and to those that did. This was bloody hard work again.
We got there on the blueair flight yesterday with a small delay after the flight was cancelled the day before. Could see why flights were cancelled the day before though because there was ice all over the show, hanging from trees, fences and even cars frozen up. Went straight to the ground and to a large restaurant where the food was tremendous and the beer good and to cap it all they was all but giving it away at their prices.

The ground was freezing inside and the seats and trees iced up big time plus mud everywhere outside. Went to Bordellos in the centre after the match where they had band on and stayed there pissing it up till about 4am when they started turfing out. Got a taxi back to the airport then and grabbed a bite to eat there.

Met GeeFJay on the wed. as he started his tremendous attempt to get there, also met Annasfield and plenty others on route. Look forward to meeting up again on a Euro trip next year ACLE.

Got back at 3-30,cheers Dean for getting us all back home, was bloody knackered so god knows how you felt driving after the 2 days of chaos we had..
as you said though bloody brilliant trip, from drinking in o'neils by st pancreas unexpectedly on wednesday lunch, with all our lot plus GAZ{sorry mate}to having a great party at the little club opposite the intercontinental last nite..
worst tale i heard was the legends who travelled 9 hours in a hire car from another romanian airport and didn't get to the hotel in bucharest until 2 hours after the game had finished, surely liverpool fc can recognise officially what this gang of lads did to try and get to the game.....
also if kev lumley is reading this have you found your hotel yet mate?

Kev (The bagman) Lumley was last seen in the Irish Bar (For my information; What did you do with the bag before the game, did u take it the ground  ? ). Great trip i am in Athens airport waiting for the flight to Dubai. Will be trying to get home for the Mancs in the cup and the derby the week after. Great to see u all again and yes it was a great trip for the lads that were lucky enough to get there.

Just got back, went via Madrid so no problems with flights. Sad a lot of Reds didn't make it. Not many in dreamers before the game maybe about ten of us.
Would like to thank them for putting a free bus on for us to take us to the ground. traffic was shit so we got there about ten minutes after kick off. Stood there freezing, every thing covered in ice. decided to get out before they locked us in. Not the best trip we have ever done.
highlight was the lads in Dreamers, there were no banners up so they went back to their hotel and stole the bed sheets, brought them back to the pub, cut them up and made their own. Top stuff.
