3 hours after the result on tuesday, a 0 - 0 draw warranted 22 pages of negative abuse.

3 hours after the result today, a 2 - 0 win warrants 7 pages.

Now we could take into consideration that it's a Saturday, so less people may be using RAWK than on a Tuesday night. However, Ben might be able to verify if this is the case or not.

So a very simple conclusion, and yes it is a very simple one, is that twice as many negative posters wait for the opportunity of an unflattering result to come on here and have their moan.

One of the the problems I have is that when people try to search for the positives in a not so good result, they get accused of being cheerleaders or rose-tinted Rafa lovers. Yet when these extra posters who crawl out of the woodwork get labelled as negative, they claim that this is not the case, and it's merely the result justifying their "objective criticisms."

Well here's some of my objectivity for you; where are you now? You just never seem to be out in force after a win. Is your even-handedness only a one way street which can't be utilized when there's something to be positive about and only works when there's a negative? Seems that way, objectively speaking.

It's like everything in life- feedback is normally only given when service is shite- Take any hotel you have stayed in- Has anyone ever left a note to say well done? Not often.

The other factors could be...

a) Whoppers moan.
b) We are still playing "not very sexy football" - unlike last year. So nothing to rave about.
c) some people would rather we lost so Rafa was sacked.
d) All the decent Reds are on their flights back to Norway ?
e) We are in a fight for 4th. Celebration will be in May - Moaning can start now.

I'm all for humiliating the moany bastards but don't sound too sorry for yourself! We won today playing some actual football, atmosphere at the game today wasn't brilliant but the nervousness wasn't there. Today, for the first time in a while, everyone trusted each other to get the job done. A massive positive for me, in fact a reason to celebrate!

We all know post match threads when we dont win are full of absolute numpties, hell even when we win they crop up from time to time. It's just one of those things all clubs have them, it's easier to just avoid/ignore them.

I dont even think it's so much the length of the threads but that there's certain posters always ready to butt in when we lose or draw but are nowhere to be seen when we win.

When we won in the Bernabeu last season, there were more posts just a couple of hours after Boro away than there had been from the Wednesday before in the RM thread

people like to moan when they are upset and find solace and release doing so on these forums. When we win we feel good so have less to say and might, dare i say, be happy in company or even out celebrating. After a loss these happy feelings are less strong so the need to hang out with the sad people on the internet is lessened.

Regarding the OP it's quite simple really.
We were expected to beat Wolves and we put up a pitiful performance.
We were expected to beat Bolton and we did although it was not really anything to shout about.
You can't blame people for complaining after that abysmal performance on Tuesday with one shot on target in 90 minutes against one of the worst teams in the prem and you can't blame people for not coming on here tonight doing cartwheels because we beat another of the worst teams in the prem.

Keep in mind we are known as the most patient fans in the game...
The need to vent is obviously more powerful than the need to pop on here and say "well done lads" even though I was nearly dancing around on a high for hours after the game, I didn't feel the urge to pop in and say "Come on redmen" or something like that...
