I ordered one just to see if it worked, I dont know why as I hate Apple, but told my sister and she made me order two for her, fuck knows if it goes through, worst they can do is cancel the order. I dont know if they have to honor it even though they fucked up and their TC's might say they dont, might look up the consumer act and see how it applies.

Almost certain that they don't have to honour it if it's a genuine mistake.

Given the number of people who must have ordered one, I'm pretty sure they won't honour it through good will either.

I cant think what it is, its peeeerfect, its so backwards it might work. :P

They could never hope to honour it, they couldnt afford it unless they were getting them from Apple for £1 each, saw a post on another site saying that 100 people in their office had ordered 2 each, thats just one office. Apple could afford to do it though, they should of let them go through with it, the only way you would get someone like me buying one of thier shitty products is if it was dirt cheap, they get massive PR and loads of new customers for their over priced crappy gear.

There is a petition :lmao

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/tescoipad3blunder/signatures

There is no way they are going to honour it, the fucking things cost more than £50 to make in component parts alone.

They are fucking retards to be fair, Tesco have every right to not honour the deal, it was a mistake, simple as.

re: iPad pricing error,

A price tag is only an "invitation to treat" it is not a legally binding contract.  If the store makes a mistake, that does not mean they are legally bound to honour it.  Sometimes they will, as part of good customer service but only if it is a relatively small error and/or they will lose a small amount, before they sort it out.  Tesco always honour their PoS mistakes in store (I've had no problem getting back a few pounds here and there) but they would have made a considerable loss on hundreds/thousands of iPads.

Anyway, went have a proper look at some tablets yesterday, ordered the Samsung Galaxy 8.9" tab 16GB, £279 from Currys.

I was half expecting a bag of flour to turn up, as it reminds me of a scam a bunch of lads I used to see about worked around Oxford Street. They would go up to people and offer to sell them a laptop in a case, then haggle, let them have a good look at it, agree a deal hand over the bag and scarper. What they actually did is pull a switch and give the mark a different laptop case with the zip sewn up, inside of it would be a bag of flour and they would leg it before the mark could get the zip open. They used to do it about 20 times a week.

Good to hear because I bought one as well . I talked myself into it by suggesting it to you .

did you order one of these?

Mine has android ICS 4.0.3 and therefore many apps (facebook, twitter, lots of others) are not available (yet?) from the Market. However I found a nice way of  getting hold of them by downloading them onto my phone, backing up the apps I want to transfer (using Astro on my phone) then emailing them to my gmail account and installing them on the tablet. Not entirely sure why they are not on the Market because everything i have so far works straight away on the tablet...

Good idea for anything not there yet . Mine came yesterday so still playing with it . I think the missing stuff is down to ICS so will be there soon . Tweetcaster works for Twitter .
What I am impressed with is that FilmOn gives me UK tv ( I'm in Netherlands) without vpn . ( I also have a hacked Nook Color and it will not run smoothly at all on it - and it does not have HDMI out ) . Made up with it for the price so far . Love the way it is rooted straight off as well .

The new iPad arrived this morning. Liking it very much. The screen is beautiful, but the best thing is how damn fast it is compared to my old iPad 1.

I do not like this "smart" cover, though. The iPad 1 cover was ugly as sin, but much better to use.

that's the very post i was thinking of, cheers. My ipad is out of use atm, been thinking of replacing it. But there's not way i can justify another €400+ on a tablet, when all i've used my ipad for is reading books and comics and browsing the internet pretty much.

Vita?

Was about to get one when it came out but thought it'd be extremely pointless seeing as I don't play games (apart from the odd pick up and play type games that the iPad is good for). I got Arkham City over Christmas but still haven't finished it. The Vita would have cost 5 times more but been as useful to me!

Maybe another tablet, but being so used to the speed and slickness of the iPad, I'm not so sure what's as good...
