I was taught to picture what you wanted to bowl and watch the spot on the pitch to try hit it. Apparently he just tried to view the pitch as a whole without focusing on one specific spot. He seemed to say he didn't really think too much about what he was doing. Never focusing on one aspect of his delivery. That that was for practice. He made being one of the all time greats sound extremely easy.
I always focus at the top of off when I'm running in, unless I'm bowling a yorker then I look at the base of middle.

And we're back. Clarke and Hussey still going along steadily, albeit the run rate's a bit slower.

300 up for Pup. What an effort from him.

Interesting to see how his concentration holds up now.

Got quite emotional when he got to 300. First match I've worked on where there's been a 300.

Three more overs till the new ball. No reason not to take it I suppose, with the old ball not doing much.

They brought on the spinners having only bowled 22 overs with the last new ball, so it doesn't matter either way.

Bit surprised Clarke's declared there. Knowing him it's probably for some sentimental reason like not wanting to go past Bradman or something.

Still there are a few showers predicted for the next couple of days so it might not be the worst idea to get in earlier rather than later.

Kohli has been fined for his little salute to the Aussie public.  And fair enough as well.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Cracking day, wonderful to see the SCG covered in pink as well.

Looks like there's a few holes in the wall!
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

Why didn't Clarke carry on? He could have had the world record there and then some...be nice to get the worlds highest ever score off the records seeing as it's against us ;)

We can’t have the Aussies holding records though, that’s why we had to let Lara claim it back after Hayden had snatched it away. I know that tightly fought lower scoring Tests are more entertaining but there’s something great about just looking at a scorecard like that! Fantastic effort from Clarke, and probably a sensible boost for his average to make sure he declared not out! Even taking away his mere 329 runs they still racked up a very impressive 330-4. Credit where it’s due. I was gutted when Cook was out for 290 odd in the summer, triple centuries don’t come about that often (unless you’re Bradman or Sehwag!)…how many have been scored in Test cricket Stats Dan?

Not looking good for the Lankans – 220-8, still 360 behind.

Just seen this, been doing the stats all day but see that GA has already answered it. 21st Player to do it, with 4 players repeating the feat twice. 3rd highest numerical score and the 4th highest recorded score by an Australian.

Also matched Inzamam's Test best, which is why he retired I'm assuming - out of respect for the big man.

Bradman was the victim of his own desire that day.

The non-striking batsman (Pud Thurlow) was run-out whilst he was going for the single that would have taken him to 300. Unlucky.

Are more ranking points awarded if you win by an innings or is it just the same as a win??

Your current World XI that includes a player from each of the Test playing nations (excluding Bangladesh):

Cook ENG
Jayawardene SL
Kallis SA
Tendulkar IND
Ponting AUS
Sangakkara SL (wk)
Vettori NZ
Steyn SA
Umar Gul PAK
Rampaul WI
Anderson ENG

Is what it took me all day to decide.

Why? Whens the last time he kept in a test? I'd have Sehwag over Tendulkar at the moment and Hussey over Ponting.
