I'm actually quite disappointed in the result. Thought it would've been a good vehicle to get our squad players more game time. I know we've bigger fish to fry but games like that can only benefit the likes of Degen and Ngog.

Thought we played well for the most part. Arse seemed to play quite a few experienced players in the key areas.

Didnt think much of Babels play or either central Midfielder, but I think the rest played well. Well done to Voro and Degan who played well.

Aquilani showed a touch of class, Voronin did well I thought and honorable mention to Degen who also did quite well.
Beauty of a goal from Insua too.
Thought we played well, shame the ref robbed us at the end there but oh well.

Oh and Babel wasn't very good was he.

Thought Ngog and Voronin should've shared the man of the match award for us. Our defense was comical at times but having not played together that's understandable. Aquilani? ... Xabi who?

Overall pretty pleased at the desire shown. Shame we lost but we've got bigger fish to fry.

Good try lads, excellent goal by Insua but we got found out too often in the back and the center of midfield (back up anyway) is not good enough unfortunately. Lose the game there and its uphill all the way. Degen actually looked very good tonight and may have thrown his hat into “did he cost us 17m?” …kidding aside he actually looks the part but has no chance of displacing Johnson. Just lacked the final cutting edge and while Babel will get the brunt of the fans frustrations, others went missing as well. Funny how Rafa did not throw Kuyt up front as Babel probably would have been better served out right while a striker (Kuyt) who has led the line for us a lot should have been pushed up front.

I'm not too discouraged by the loss. It's the frickin' Carling Cup. Aquilani made my night. He only had twenty minutes but he showed some promising stuff. Hope to see him at Fullham.

On another note: Insua's goal is the best of the season for us so far. What a shot.

We should have won the game. Promising performance from Aquilani. Looked good and that ball to Degen was absolutely brilliant. Nice overhead kick but what a shame ref didn't see that handball.

Degen looked much better that we have thought.

Voronin was rubbish today. Don't think Plessis is ever going to make it at Anfield. He's just poor with the ball. Babel needs to rise his game or he'll be gone.

Not a bad game. Plessis and spearing were a bit kack, not far behind them our twocentre backs. Babel really frustrates me. Some good passing, degen and voro did well and we should of scored more goals
