Nope, down in Barn Elms nets.

Ah, Chiswick! Planning on moving there soon. Love the place, good watering holes like the Barley Mow and the George.
Ah right, our Sunday team were playing on Suffolk Road I think.
I've lived in Chiswick all my life and I still fucking love it. Those two pubs are ok but you've also got the Bulls Head and City Barge on the river.

comedy night at the george can be decent. I am an ealing dweller. the broadway area isn't the best but the local boozers are good and there are loads of decent parks for the wee man. west is best!

Not been to those two, I just tend to hang around the high street being on the route back from work.

Slough

Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough!
It isn't fit for humans now,
There isn't grass to graze a cow.
Swarm over, Death!
Come, bombs and blow to smithereens
Those air -conditioned, bright canteens,
Tinned fruit, tinned meat, tinned milk, tinned beans,
Tinned minds, tinned breath.

Mess up the mess they call a town-
A house for ninety-seven down
And once a week a half a crown
For twenty years.

And get that man with double chin
Who'll always cheat and always win,
Who washes his repulsive skin
In women's tears:

And smash his desk of polished oak
And smash his hands so used to stroke
And stop his boring dirty joke
And make him yell.

But spare the bald young clerks who add
The profits of the stinking cad;
It's not their fault that they are mad,
They've tasted Hell.

It's not their fault they do not know
The birdsong from the radio,
It's not their fault they often go
To Maidenhead

And talk of sport and makes of cars
In various bogus-Tudor bars
And daren't look up and see the stars
But belch instead.

In labour-saving homes, with care
Their wives frizz out peroxide hair
And dry it in synthetic air
And paint their nails.

Come, friendly bombs and fall on Slough
To get it ready for the plough.
The cabbages are coming now;
The earth exhales.

On a day like today it is great....cricket in Barnes followed by a few beers, just like being back in the sticks.....almost!

Who do you play for? Am looking for a club this summer.
It's wonderful, it's marvellous, it's 3-3

I've said that every year for about the past half dozen or more... And yet I never seem to have enough free weekends to give up to get back to playing, which is sad.

Billy no mates alert!

I wasn't there long enough to get pally with people really, only a bit less than 18 months.  The friends I did have there, from Uni, were slack fuckers and they lived up in Camden area and so they could never be arsed to come down to Perivale for a kick-around.
Meh, I met up with them at the weekends, but was happy to potter around on my own on weekdays.
AKA, I had no mates.

I agree, it's just that bit further away, see it more as Kew Bridge than Chiswick. Great pub.

Who do you play for? Am looking for a club this summer.

I have been chopping and changing over the last few years, but Shepherds Bush CC is very good, well run. Although this summer is going to be a busy one with work, so playing T20 for the work team and some 40 over cricket with friends, rather than a club this year.

Sorry to barge in before Gus answers but I captain a club mate, three league teams and a lot of fun. Surrey League and our home ground is in Thames Ditton. Can always organise lifts etc and we have a great bunch of lads playing for us.

Yeah, there's more pothole than road.

Anyway, Brixton mate. Been here since '91. We're currently gearing up for another summer of barbies, boom boxes, the odd burqa and plenty of stray bullets. Best place in London  ;)

Down South I used to live in

Edmonton- really tough place also
Enfield - Had a the time of my life living there went into the City every week and loved it.
Harlow - inbred London overspill town bit like Runcorn/ Skem. Full of Quims.
Sawbridgeworth - nice town loads of pubs but Beckham has a gaff there and as such paparazzi everywhere.

Best thing about living there was selling up and moving further back up North - easier commute for the match/family and further aways from the wife's

:-)

Can we just let Paul Merson manage a team again just for shits and giggles.
