I don't pose this question to Chelsea fans, although at any point they feel confident against us, it is something they should ponder long and hard.
I ask this to our supposed fans. The ones that slag Lucas, Riera, Carragher, Rafa. The ones that become beacons of morality and think people shouldn't bet against our team - rightly or wrongly, betting and personal feeling should always be two separate issues.
Have you not had five years of fantastic moments, thrills, spills and any cliche that can reel off the tongue? Forget Istanbul for a moment if you want to - Old Trafford 2006, Cardiff 2006, Chelsea 2007, Athens, the amazing push for the league last season. We're Liverpool Football Club, we are destined to succeed. We are on our way - Xabi fucking turncoat Alonso or not. Give the team and the manager time, and we will deliver.
Alan Curbishley, Steve Bruce, and whoever the fuck wasn't in Istanbul. Rafa Benitez was. 40,000 reds who bothered going the games were in Istanbul (very idealistic, because some missed it who should have been there, and some who shouldn't were there).
Just think about it. We shouldn't live off Istanbul - but if any event has taught you anything, it should be that those who give up on the team should fuck off, and those who moralise what the correct Liverpool fan is, or moan, should have gone to Graz AK.
So there.
