like voronin signed with us as a free agent way back in february, but he only joined in july.

it's not a question of the player signing, you shouldn't be able to register new players after september 1st. it seems hull found a loophole.

Nope ! The player had no contract so was free to join who ever he liked . Voronin was contracted till July hence why he had to wait to go on a free .

They've been quietly impressive with their signings have Hull. They'll miss Turner at the back of course, but they may just get a few goals to balance out the leeks to secure that 17th spot. I had them down as a banker for the drop, but maybe not?

My understanding is "Vennegoor" is his father's family name and "Hesselink" is his mother's maiden name. Where he is from Hesselink is the "better" name so he keeps it as a part of his family name.

Is that right?

Am I the only one who thinks he wouldn't have been the worst option for us to have purely as a backup to Fernando? He was on a free, and I can't imagine that he'd be on huge wages. If Torres were out injured, he'd be more suited to leading the line than any of our strikers except Ngog, certainly more so than Voronin. I can see him being a good signing for Hull anyway.

He almost certainly wouldn't. Let's be honest, he looks half decent in the Scottish league. A league where Kris Boyd and Georgios Samaras are considered top strikers.
