Anyone who thought Villa were going to just roll over were always in for a rude awakening. Villa's pressing game was excellent and in the end they deserved something from the game.

If anyone thinks the squad has depth after watching Voronin they need their head checked.

That was bad. Putting Villa's great performance aside (including another fantastic show by Friedel) but we were bad.

No creativity, lack of depth to the squad, for some crazy reason Skertl and Carra finally deciding to push right up, but by doing so meaning Johnson and Insua had to stay back!!!!!!!

Villa played well and contained us. The chances we got were handled quite well by Friedel. Can't be arsed with all the individual slating; the whole team were shite from Gerrard to Carragher.

Big picture is now Espanyol, Spurs and Villa have run us into defeat which is worrying. Early doors and it's as you were with United. We can get this back. Havent even got the energy to twat Atkinson.

Knocked our (the teams) confidence a bit Xabi leaving I guess. Vision and passing ability is hard to replace. Though I'm not that sure Xabi would have made that much of a difference, we have played poorly with him playing.

We were poor but not outclassed. Just didn't happen for us tonight and a couple of individual errors come back to haunt us again. We've really got to kick into gear soon and I mean in terms of performance. We were woeful against Spurs, good against Stoke and poor here. We need to start playing at the level we can play to.

And a big fuck off to all those writing off our title chances already.

Really pathetic. After the first game there was no need to worry, but now losing to a team that lost home to Wigan is just dire.
