Anyone collect LFC memorabilia?
« on: August 21, 2009, 10:02:35 AM »
I just dug out an old Kenny Dalglish Topps card from 77-78

It is top left in picture below

Was the first card made after he signed so the stats on the back dont even include liverpool.

Was thinking of trying to get it signed and framed up and was just curious if it actually had any value - not that I want to sell it.

Whilst were on this subject:

When in Istanbul in 2005, some of you may remember that on every other lamp-post between city centre and airport, UEFA/MASTERCARD had put quite large banners as advertisements for the final.

They are official UEFA advertising and have all the associated logos (Champions league, mastercard, etc).  Probably Measures about 5- 6 foot in height by two foot in width and are of very good quality as they are made from a tough plastic.

I climbed two lamposts with the aid of a van under-neath me for leverage and got my hands on two of them as memento's.  Found them in a cupboard the other day and cant help but wonder how good they would look in a sports bar or similar sort of venue.  Getting them signed would be even better but most of that 2005 side are now part of our history.

Any one know if they may be worth anything or if interest to a particular venue that could actually display one of them?

Could be worth a few quid. Any of the stuff from our Euro wins fetches a fair bit as it's all highly collectable.

Heres one sold recently from Manchester which was a nothing final compared to ours.

got a match programme dated august 31st 1997, v newcasle with karlheinz reidle on the cover.

the match was actually postponed because of the death the night before of princess diana. i'm guessing though that there's loads of these about the place. i got mine 'coz i took out a match programme subscription so they sent me the match programme wether or not i could get to the game.

« Reply #10 on: June 13, 2012, 07:40:51 PM »

Bit of a long shot in here but don't really know where else to go, I am doing a trek in Brazil in September for Marie Curie in Woolton and I have some football memorabilia to sell to help raise funds towards it however I only have a week left to do so.

I have a picture of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher holding the Carling Cup between them at Wembely earlier on this year, this is signed by the two players and is already framed.

I have a picture of the whole squad at the start of the season which is signed by 18 players and staff including Gerrard and Dalglish which is also framed.

I also have an Everton shirt and ball which has been signed by the current squad if you know anyone who would be interested.

If anyone is interested in any of the above just send me a message, I am hoping to work it on an auction basis with those interested and will keep people posted on the progress.

Abit sad I know, but when I went to Istanbul I kept/collected everything I could get my hands on.
Headrest cover on airplane, plastic pint pot from M'cr Airport, plastic pot from the beer tent at Sabia Gokhan, even kept the Kebeb wrapper. Honestly I have kept the fucking lot.
Only thing that spoilt trip was DJ Spoony walking around beer tent eating a tub of fucking grapes, twat had half a dozen programs under his arm and wouldn't sell me one.

while on the subject... Dickie Felton (i believe he's a radio host in liverpool, and has a role at the museum of liverpool) was at a wedding the other weekend and when he got home he found that his home had been burglarized and, among other things, this was stolen from his home... it's a 1986 Double cardigan in boys size... if you get offered it or see it anywhere somehow, speak to the police or contact @dickefelton on twitter and tell him what you know.  thanks.

I have a player's brochure published by the Echo for the 1950 FA Cup Final V Arsenal.  Think the point of it was to boost the player's apperance money.

Also have a small red photographic booklet with embossed cover (1977 European Cup homecoming)containing 15 or so professionally taken photographs of the team, Paisley etc on the steps of St Georges Hall.  My dad picked this up when he worked for British Leyland, Halewood and I always understood that someone was selling them at work.  Never seen anotheone though.....

Dont know if this counts, but i have all my portraits of the following signed, Gerrard, Fowler, Dudek, Dalglish, Smicer, Carra, Berger, Baros, Phil Neal, Tommo, Cally, Houllier, Owen. Very proud of them all. Smicer Asked me to do one for himself and we exchanged it for one of his shirts which he signed. And 'God' came round to my gaff to sign his for me! What a day that was.

After sorting through my collection of LFC shirts, I've decided that I'm going to stick the ones pictured below on eBay.

However, I want to keep the shirts pictured below. The top-left one was my first ever shirt which I'm keeping out of sentimentality; and the top-right one was signed by various members of the 2006/7 reserve squad after a reserve league match. The bottom three shirts fit me perfectly and are ideal for five-a-side football.

I have a lot of those already but not all with names on. The top right one usually sells for a decent bit on ebay as it was the shirt we wore when we won the CL. That black European one I managed to find on ebay for 55p once. Great bargain.

All my Liverpool shirts are in here. Missing the 2010-2011 away and 3rd kit though.

Sorry, his last competitive fixture. I'm sure he oversaw a few five-a-sides at training after the Cup Final too.

There's currently a match worn shirt on ebay from 1979 with Hitachi sponsoring it going for £426. Way out of my price range but might try and get hold of a few Liverpool shirts I am missing from my collection. Mainly all the older more expensive ones.

Funny. I've got boxes and boxes of programmes in the loft. Programmes numbering in the thousands, if not tens of.  Going back........

I've got over 200 replica, full Liverpool kits. Every kit going back to the early 70's.

I've got players match worn shirts.

But allowing for all of that, the one thing that makes me laugh the most is this:

My best mate used to work for Sir John Smith. And this bottle of Championship Winning Whisky was given to him, and passed on to me.

The only other place I've ever seen an unopened one like mine, is in the Liverpool FC museum.

It's still unopened for one reason. I had an agreement with my mate and all of the 80s/90s match crew.  Next time we win the league, we'll open it, and all have a snifter to celebrate......

....we're still waiting.  :sad

There's currently a match worn shirt on ebay from 1979 with Hitachi sponsoring it going for £426. Way out of my price range but might try and get hold of a few Liverpool shirts I am missing from my collection. Mainly all the older more expensive ones.

Just had a look at that.

It's just a shirt with a number 10 on the back. No proof whatsoever that it is match-worn, and the seller even says as such in the listing.

It's amazing how many people have bid such high sums on this without knowing exactly what they are bidding for. The same goes for the Jamie Redknapp 'match-worn' shirt which he sold for over £200.
