Just had a look at that.

It's just a shirt with a number 10 on the back. No proof whatsoever that it is match-worn, and the seller even says as such in the listing.

It's amazing how many people have bid such high sums on this without knowing exactly what they are bidding for. The same goes for the Jamie Redknapp 'match-worn' shirt which he sold for over £200.

Yeah I don't get that at times. Like surely you could get a shirt and marker pen and say this is signed by Pele or buy a shirt with all the patches on and name and rub it in the grass and just say it is match worn?

I have a can of Coca-Cola someone brought me back from Thailand in 2001 comemorating Liverpools game with the Thai national side , Sami, Gerrard and Robbie all holding the three cups on the can....still intact too....so thats it.....45 years of supporting the Reds..........a can of coke!
Well I hope you live long now, I pray the Lord
your soul to keep
I think I'll be going before we fold our arms
and start to weep
I never thought for a moment that human life
could be so cheap
'Cos when they finally put you in the ground
They'll stand there laughing and tramp the
dirt down

 ;D

I do have a signed shirt from like 2002 which is framed in my room. A signed photo of Houlier holding the UEFA Cup and a signed photo of the 2005 CL winners squad.

I've recently sold a couple of my match worn 1980s LFC shirts.

In the case of that one for sale, NO he can't prove it's match worn, as he says so. But as it's a club issue shirt ( size - OS MENS) then it has a better than average chance of being match worn, at some point. Second that with the fact that the shirt involved is a 81-84 shirt with Hitachi sponsor (79-81) pretty much pins it dow to 1981-82 season(the only cross-over with this shirt, and that sponsor).  This particular shirt with the hitachi sponsor makes it quite rare.

Saying all of that. Unless you know your LFC shirts and how to spot the real thing from a fake/chancer, you're still taking a chance that it's not what it says it is.  Unfortunately some people are that desperate to get an official match shirt from that era, that they are prepared to take a chance on paying top dollar to get hold of it.

The 1980s shirts I've recently sold, all went for in the region of £600 - £750

I'll never buy anything autographed, as you just can't verify most of them, and there's just too many fake's on the market.

I've got the tickets (all home legs and final) from the Istanbul CL run with a signed shirt from that season. I found them in a plaggy bag in the spare room when I was clearing out the other day. I meant to get them framed at the time and probably will now.

Don΄t collect it as such but I have one piece of memorabilia.

It΄s a large, framed, signed pic of Hysιn, number 32 of 500.

It΄s for sale if anyone is interested. :)

I just go for replica ones as I can't really afford to pay around £100 for match worn shirts. Although might be getting my hands on a match worn Andorra shirt soon hopefully if one of the players has any available.

Got a link to your sellers page mate? Fancy a couple of them if size is right for 5-a side

There's nothing on there at the moment, but I do plan to put them on soon as a single bulk item. The 2008/10 home shirt is a [M]; all of the other shirts are either a [L] or [XL].

To be honest mate, same myself.

Keeping the replica collection up to date is an arm and a leg in itself, hence why I tend not to collect player worn shirts, and also why I've recently sold some of the ones I have.

They're just too costly to get hold of, at £100s of pounds a pop.

Yeah I mean even a match worn Poulsen one I saw recently went for around £100 and that is just for Poulsen. I mean you can get a replica top and stick the patches and name on the back for around £40 so I do that if I ever want a name on the back. One of my German friends has received match worn shirts for free from players that play for Seychelles, Turkmenistan, Macau and a few others. Whenever I email and try contact certain players they never get back to me and his luck annoys me  :P but hopefully the Andorran captain can sort me out a deal with an Andorra shirt.

I've got a birthday card personally written to me on my 8th birthday, signed by the 78 European Cup side and a pennant signed by the 84 winning team.  I've also got a very old Wolves program from when they played us back in the 50s signed by both sides, including Billy Wright, Billy Liddell and Bob Paisley as a player.

I've got a few old 45 vinyl singles from the 60s and 70s.  One's a BBC audio of the Panorama special on the Kop and the other is the side singing "We are Liverpool, lalalalaa..." to the tune of Boney M's Brown Girl in the Ring, with 'Hail to the Kop' on the B side.  I've also got one of Paisley just reading out his squad with the Kop singing YNWA in the background.  I did have the vinyl called something like the Kop Sings, which was basically a live recording of the Kop during a couple of matches in the 70s with no voice over, just the crowd. Sadly that went walkabout from my collection at home some years ago.

Other than that, I got a few on the program after the 83 Milk/League Cup Final against the Mancs and loads of autographs on books, pics, etc. from the 80s.  And loads of programs from the 70s/80s/90s.  Only non LFC is the Bolton v Blackpool 'Matthews' FA Cup final program and ticket, which was my Grandad's who worked the ground at Bloomfield Road back in the day.

I also like this one.

It's an Adidas promotional shirt from the 1992 Centenary season. (I'm led to believe there was only a couple made)

Just so you understand what you're looking at, the 'smaller' shirt on the left is a standard, large shirt with a 42 inch chest..... the one on the right is the 'Molby' shirt!   ;)

6 foot!? Why was it made so big? To fit Jan Molby in it?

In a similar vein to the big black away shirt in Williamson square a couple of years ago.  It was purely made for promotional purposes.

Anyone collect LFC memorabilia?
« Reply #56 on: June 15, 2012, 12:56:40 AM »
A letter from the King, to me, worth more to me than everything else I own.

I did buy one of the presentation hand signed Dalglish shirts. Identical sig to the letter and given it come from the club with a coa I think I can trust my 250 notes was well spent.  Nice piece it is.

Have lots of old and important programmes too including Shanks last game at Wembley and various others...the Kings hat trick against city, first goal against Newcastle shooting into the KOP etc.  Also have a stub from Rushies testimonial and other bits n bobs.

Wouldn't sell any of it for anything.

YNWA
'"If you can't make decisions in life, you're a bloody menace. You'd be better becoming an MP!'  - Shanks...
"This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool FC if they asked me to." - Bob Paisley...
"WHATEVER happens, the club can always count on my support" - King Kenny, from his book...

I've got a match ball signed by the '78 squad. Problem is, I used to play with it and it's all beat up and burst. The autographs are still legible.

After sorting through my collection of LFC shirts, I've decided that I'm going to stick the ones pictured below on eBay.

However, I want to keep the shirts pictured below. The top-left one was my first ever shirt which I'm keeping out of sentimentality; and the top-right one was signed by various members of the 2006/7 reserve squad after a reserve league match. The bottom three shirts fit me perfectly and are ideal for five-a-side football.

They're finally listed! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130724490486

I doubt it would for that many shirts. I charge £4.00 for just the one shirt. Might sell a few more soon and buy a few different shirts. I want to buy some crazy designed ones now.

Id be in for the bidding if there would be any chance of you shipping them to Sweden? Or if theres any possibility of just buying the Alonso shirt and ship it over here. Ive been looking for one of those for ages now.

I have some stuff on my trainer website.....I used to have loads more....most home game programmes from the 60's, fully autographed annuals from the late 70's/early 80's......I have a great letter signed by Bob Paisley when he was stepping down as manager. I still have many ticket stubs from games in the late 70's/early 80's.

In my collection of all stuff LFC I've just come across 'The official FA Cup commemorative publication of Liverpool Football Club" published by World of Sport with a foreword from Brian Moore from 1976/77 - this must be quite rare now?
