Either way I hope it is settled tomorrow.

IF Alonso goes for 30M as reported and Aquilani *(OR Defour)* comes in for 16M as reported, and we get another player in with the proceeds then I think most parties will be reasonably content.

Also, was hoping this would've been settled today...
April.  The month that football died.  I've given up because there's no use fighting anymore, it will never change.

I believe we're asking for 30m CASH and up to 5m based on performances =35m Sterling or nearer 40m Euro !!!    I hope Rafa has a damn good plan for if/when Alonso goes
Goodbye & thank you Rafa. You've given us more than we ever had a right to expect from you and you stayed loyal and fought for us even when some of our own turned on you. I truly hope that you find somewhere with the support that you deserve & win everything in sight.

Looking at our first team squad with Alonso going i still think we are  4 players short.{ players i think are good enough /ready}
2 centre midfielders , striker and a right back.

Yes I have to agree. We might have a Mascherano whose heart is not really with us too...

Kevin Nolan I'm sure I suggested that about a year ago and got aload of abuse.....

Kevin Nolan would be so cheap he cost the toon £4m so I reckon they would accept £2m just to get him off there wage bill. And I think he's worth a shout at that price even if he's merely used as a back up player....
+ Nolan would fit into this home grown players rule...

Nolan would be a better option than Cattermole and Noble

Kevin Nolan!!!! Its come to this? WTF

It is Real Shit who is messing everything up. They want a player but do not want to pay what is the expected amount. Yet paid over-the-top prices earlier. F uck them bastards. This saga will only affect our preparation as long as it continues to drag on.

According to "Real Madrid's" Marca latest report this morning
Xabi is more closer to stay with Liverpool than Real Madrid ...

Liverpool only willing to reduce to 38 mln Euros whereas Real Madrid only wants to stumb up 27 + 3 maximum in add-ons = 30 ...

And they've just shelled out how much money to insure ladyboys legs!

They're an absolute joke, if they don't want to pay over the odds for a Spanish player, then they should just f*ck off and buy an Italian or something. They're really starting to p*ss me off, I am actually starting to feel sorry for Xabi. They obviously spoke to him or his agent and told them "if you hand in a transfer request, we will buy you quickly". Even though his reps have denied it, Xabi is now stuck in limbo, probably not being liked very much by some of his current team mates. I know they're all professional, but you would have to guess some of the players don't like what is going on.
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: 'Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!'

What a legend this man is!

Not worried about Masch , more worried we only have about 14 players that i see are good enough to help us win the premiership and from that 14 Aurelio can't play every game and Insua who i rate very highly may still be season or two short of been ready for the primer league ?

I get the feeling Madrid dont rate Alonso as much as we do. Could turn out to be a bad move for him this.

If they wanted him so bad they would hae done whatever it takes, like they did with Kaka, Greasycunt and Benzema.

I doubt Madrid have respect for a player like Alonso.

It's just the non -commercial side of it and Alonso has no resale value  {28}.....  surprised their going to pay around 35m Euros plus add on's to be honest.
Think its the fans who want him not the club.

I like this bit in the Telegraph

He broke the world transfer record twice in one week. He has spent double the amount of Manchester City, the richest club in the world. He has brought the last two Fifa World Players of the Year to Spain, where seven of the top 10 in the last poll now play. He has, almost single-handedly, robbed the Premier League of its lustre and prevented Real's fierce rivals, Barcelona, from basking in the glory of their treble success last season for more than a fleeting moment.

The other 3 being Eto'o and none other than our own #8 and #9

Torres was number 3 above Kaka and Gerrard was number 6 just behind Kaka so out of the top 6 in the magical list Alonso could choose to play with two players at Madrid or stick with the two he already knows at Anfield.

Wouldn't be such a hardship would it  ;)

I saw Nolan play on Sunday - he was garbage and got bossed by Dundee United's Scott Robertson. I'd rather we signed Robertson.

I agree.
But, and this is pure gut feeling, I think yesterday was possibly the 'deadline' that Rafa set.  He has to have his squad ready.

I hope Alonso picks up what appears to be a massive injury, the deal falls through, and then we use Jesus to heal him.

It's a pity we don't have some ridiculous champs league pre qualifier that we could use to cup tie Alonso.....
"All the lads have been talking about is walking out in front of the Kop, with 40,000 singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone'," Collins told BBC Radio Solent. "All the money in the world couldn't buy that feeling," he added.

Precisely, he gets injured and we're in a worse position that if we sold him, no player and probably not enough money to buy a replacement.

Let's just hope the fans in Norway do the same as the ones in Asia and show him that we still love him and want him to stay, and then we all do the same on Saturday if he's still here (here's hoping anyway!)
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: 'Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!'

Starting to look a littttle bit more likely that Xabi will stay. Marca are reporting a problem with fees (probably just to try to put more pressure on Rafa/Liverpool) still exists, other stories suggest there are further problems with agent payments, and furthermore he's supposed to be travelling to the other side of Europe for a friendly tomorrow.

Another pointless 10 minute spell? If he does go to Norway, this transfer saga certainly won't be resolved until thursday at the earliest. Getting a bit ridiculous, will be just over a week til the start of the season.

This has gone too far now.  Real should be told to stick their euros now.  Its not good for us to let this drag on and on.

Further to this, I would leave Alonso behind when going to Norway.  Not out of spite, but there is no point taking him to basically our training match for the new season when he probably wont be here.
