I remember the ott reaction to Spearing's cameo against Real Madrid. Now look what's being said about him... Why does RAWK specialise in Panglossian optimism or bitter and unadulterated murderous intent? Do we ever do the considered bit in the middle?

shh dont you know he's the world's greatest player, 2nd to Giggs of course (whos not just a player but a messiah)
Would sacrifice Fordy in a sacred Mayan ritual to have him as the next Liverpool manager

the lad is a player and no mistake.  well done yorky for calling for his inclusion - ive worried that he would be too slight - but his next test will be to see how he does when marked against a team that wants to kick the fuck out of him.

i would love that next test to come against villa.

We've actually got the makings of a good team coming up.

Ngog & Pacheco, Insua & Kelly are 4 guys that without a doubt have a big future at Liverpool for a net spend of under 5m.

I wouldn't be disapointed if we sold Voronin, Babel, Dossena, Degen and just replaced them with one player like Turan. Giving some of the young talent a chance would really boost moral in the academy and make us more attractive to emerging talent.

Not too sure if people are going 'overboard'. It was exciting to see Jay when he came on, as it's exciting now seeing Dani get a chance.

Was Spearing given huge praise? I have never really been impressed with Spearing and even though he was ok against Madrid, I was not exactly that excited over it. I think the same could be said for Stephen Darby. Don't really think either of them have the required quality.

Thats unlike Kelly and Pacheco, who I have been impressed by during their matches.

Yes, on here after the Madrid cameo, plus the Kop at the game chanted his name and Gerrard and Carragher all gave mention to the press after the game.

actually i thought spearing looked boss against madrid though they were deader than punk by the time he came on.

still lie you i have been infinitely more excited by both kelly and pacheco.

the wee man looks mustard, n'est-ce pas?

He was in HMV L1 a few days ago and asked my colleague if we had A Season on the Brink: A portrait of Rafa Benitez's Liverpool. Nice to know he's showing an interest and is reading up on our club.

Not sure if it's as high profile as the Bellamy/Riise and Carra/Arbeloa one though. If indeed it happened. Not doubting you but preventing another blooper from me.

I can imagine scuffles in training etc, but for it to come to one lad hitting another, wouldnt had thought there would be too much of that!

Got to be honest, I like the sound of that from the young lad. Got a bit fire in him, belief in his own ability and the right to be playing with the 1st team.

Why would a grown man hit a 19 year old reserve player?

What could he have said to deserve a uppercut?
