We were quite good, weren't we?

Before the Ronaldo penalty we were in control - the organisation was fantastic - so you just knew we could pull it back.

Finally - Happy birthday, RedJam!

I missed the HT analysis on sky and when the second half started they were going on about 'it hasn't happened in PL history - can someone let us know when it last happened'.

What was that all about?
A meaningful Pen against the mancs at OT ?

I think its the who's come from behind to beat United in the league home n away ?
Answer US.
Suarez had no right to score that one but then again he is Suarez and he doesn't give a fuck.

What a week.

My favourite moment today was the split second after Aurelio's free kick, when a load of Manc fans went "Wheeyyy!" because they were expecting it to miss.  That tiny instant as they realised that he'd actually put the game out of reach was magic.

Now that's what i'm talking about, our boys got rid of the fear they once had at castle grey skull and played like they were superior......which they were today. Those dirty manc vermin have been brought down to earth by the mighty LIVERPOOL! and it's bound to hurt like crazy, i want those parasites to feel what it's like to be well and truly hammered by liverpool, and now they know!!!  :wave ;D

I think when rafa gave the world his speech about the parasites in the press conference people were laughing saying he'd lost it........oh really? What he said has come back to haunt the scum vermin mancs because it showed us all what can happen if there is a level playing field and when refs don't take sides. An even level playing field benifits us all plus all the other teams in the leauge. So that speech rafa was done with this game in mind i feel, and it worked. I FUCKING LOVE YOU RAFA!!

And last but not least Mr potato head AKA dirty fat wayne rooney..........how does it feel to be battered by the true reds of north west england? That skank is a rotten little runt and i for one i'm glad all over that we trounced his filthy manc family in their own back yard. FUCK YOU WAYNE ROONEY AND FUCK YOU WHISKEY NOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :wanker

What was that all about?

Maybe it was about the ref being fair
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

Thought it was 3 games for  red regardless.  And they could add on more as they did with Masche last year. 1 game for two yellows, no?
The whole of my life, what they wanted was honesty. They were not concerned with cultured football, but with triers who gave one hundred percent.

Did anyone expect old whisky nose to come and admit that our gents were better than the Mancs? So long as we know then that is all that matters, a great performance and thoroughly deserved result. Also, got to agree with a few other posters that I thought Wiley had a good game today.

Mr. Ferguson refused to be too downbeat despite watching his Manchester United side lose 4-1 to Liverpool at Old Trafford.

Liverpool arrived in Manchester trailing the champions by seven points but stole North West bragging rights courtesy of a fine performance on their travels.

Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty put United in control before defensive mistakes from Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra allowed Liverpool to forge ahead by half-time courtesy of efforts from Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.

It go no better for a below-par United after the interval as Vidic was sent off and Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena scored further goals for Rafa Benitez's rampant Reds.

Ferguson, though, believes his team's overall performance was not too bad as he backed his players to show a positive response in their next game.

Unfair reflection
"It is a hard one to take because I thought, really, we were the better team and the score does not reflect that," Ferguson claimed.

"But of course when you win 4-1 at Old Trafford you deserve all the plaudits and you can't deny them that.

"If the league was starting today, you would take a four-point start.

"It was a bad day in terms of the goals we lost but I couldn't argue with the quality of play that much."

Response needed
Ferguson was willing to concede some of his players were not at their best but refused to point the finger at individuals.

"One or two players were a little bit short today in terms of what we expect of them but I do know the football was good, we kept driving on and they showed good energy, even though we only had two and a half days to prepare for the match, he added.

"Now the thing is to respond. It always is at this club - you lose a game and you respond. We always do."

He won't be banned for three matches!   :lmao

Today was brilliant because it really has put a big dent in Ferguson's media image of this terrific manager.  Ferguson has one tactic and that is to score first and destroy a team's confidence.  It usually works against the weak-willed and disorganised but Benitez has proved beyond a doubt that he's the best manager in the World game when it comes to big games.
Wins this season at the Bridge, OT and the Bernabau have underlined that.

Fergie buys big players and relies on them to do the business, outside of that he's a very average manager and I've always believed that.  Look at his fucking subs bench today compared with Rafa's, compared with anyone's...it's not rocket science.
And look at Rafa during a game, shouting and gesturing and moving people around and giving advice.  What does Fergie do?  Chew some gum and stand out of his seat when a chance goes close.

There is a slight chance Man Utd will slip up.  Giggs and Scholes won't be in top shape at the end of a long season, there playing in the FA Cup, CL and PL.  Something has got to give.  They have looked poor against Inter and us today.

However all we can do is win our remaining games... every last one.

Ferguson thinks they were the better side... bitter twat.

Listen, I hate the c*nt more than anyone, but he said we were FAR the better team at Anfield earlier this year, so throwing 'bitter twat' at him everytime he offers his opinion doesn't really hold up.

it's very possible.

it's often very cold just before dawn, and we MAY have to endure Utd winning 4 trophies this year, before the glorious sunrise!

I suppose it's surprisingly well balanced for a Manc site, but I don't think their lead was richly deserved. We had weathered their early bright start and had just established a nice rhythm when they scored, and we just stuck to out task and got the job done.

I don't agree with this 100%. Yes, we took our chances and they didn't, but didn't we have far more clear-cut chances? And isn't this related to their performance?

Agreed. And the fact that the Mancs played quite well makes this victory even better!  ;)
