Anyone been watching the Chaser boys new show, The Hamster Wheel? I usually just catch up on the website, this weeks was absolutely hilarious, covering the horse race, the Qantas strikes, and even Clive Pugh's back.

They can be a bit hit and miss but I for one quite enjoy their stuff.

Fucking hell I didnt know they were back on, that's absolutely made my day!!!

Just watched the first half of the first show, still brilliant, absolutely the perfect antidote to all the shite served up in the aussie media!

Ah the Melbourne cup.  Fair to say I just got into it this year thanks to the sweepstakes at work.  It was only 2 bucks to play but I've been a winner all my life and to be honest, If I played footie with some friends in a park and lost the game, I would still be livid.  And anyway, I picked up a piece of paper from the box.  Hoping for a good one.  I got Fox hunt.  I read the name and thought this one has to be a winner.  That is a bad ass name.  My mate who was conducting the sweepstakes said ''Unlucky'' but I didn't believe him.  And I spend the next hour or so checking odds and seeing what the punters had to say about my little beaut.  Nothing that was said was any good.  Anyway, the race started and my horse was right at the back but still I was hoping for a late burst out of the corner into the final stretch, leaving dust in the eyes of the others as thunder and lightning struck all around and the might fox hunt decimated the opposition.  What happened ?  Damn thing came one position before last.  At least if it finished dead last, I would have got the 2 bucks back but no.  He came just one position before last.  Now, I'm already looking forward to next year's race.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I've driven through it quite a few times whist on exercise in Shoalwater Bay. From what I've seen of it, it consists of a post office, a pub and a sign! I'm sure there must be more to it, I've seen a sign about some caves or something and I've heard the beaches are sound.

After all that advice I might just apply for a job with the Queensland tourist board!

Train is one method.

Road the other.

What are your options to travel?

Is it a leisure trip or must get there asap

Lot of in-breeding around Yeppoon. (By that token, most of Queensland if you look carefully enough or am I thinking of Tasmania? Nope both states  :lickin)

Gateway to The Keppel Islands, typical beach town, sand,

just wondering what kind of place it is, whether it's full of pricks, in other words - is it a decent place to live?

Are you going downunder for a gap year? Are you travelling with mates?

I'd not swerve Yeppoon. It's near the different islands of the Great Barrier Reef.

There's a big travelling population of backpackers. Especially gals from different parts of the world. There's a big Uni at Rockhampton about 40 miles from Yeppoon. Area has younger population.
You might just have an adventure

nah mate think my oppurtunity for a gap year passed in my early 20's :D i was actually looking at jobs and found a decent one in yeppoon. i'm working at the moment so can afford to be fussy, i meant i'd swerve it in the sense that i won't bother to apply as it sounds a bit of a dull place to live.

Boring place sort of yeah. Picture pretty only lasts so long.

If it was the mines or Western Australia, I'd say go. That would sound as getting a stake together for your future. Mate's 19 year DAUGHTER will go up to the Northern Territory & get approx £45000--£55000 minimum driving  :butt

Yeppoon's a kinda backwater.

Yeah it's mad what you can get if you head out West with one of the big resources companies, relatively straightforward work but got to be prepared to live in some fairly far-out places.

Part of me is tempted to do it but my other half won't consider living anywhere other than Melbourne.

A Tradies Assisstant can make somewhere around $90k a year for 2 weeks on, 1 week off. Maybe even more depending on what mine site you get sent to and if you have any qualifications. I have actually been looking at heading up myself.

Are you in the trades already? Or would that be switching from something completely different?

Switching from something completely different. Just your average Joe who goes up for the money is classified as a tradies assisstant.

The Burwood in NSW and I will be wanting to go there from Hornsby.

Train from Hornsby to Strathfield. Change for train to Burwood. 30-45 mins depending on time of day.

The major attraction in Burwood is a Westfield, one of 14 in Sydney.

For public transport links in Syd go to -> http://www.131500.com.au/
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

I give you beautiful down town Karratha for your other half.

All homes fully air-conditioned & most with pools. Small glitch though: temperature one New Year's day was only 120F. Mind blowing.lol

Did 12 weeks there December to end of Febuary few years ago, agony all day & stinking hot all night :butt

If you even have half an inkling that you may want to stay in Oz, just do it. Honestly it makes things a lot lot easier in terms of getting jobs etc.

Also I found as an added bonus when I bought a flat (i) I didn't have to go through the FIRB, and (ii) the government gave me several thousand dollars as a first-time buyer, as part of the stimulus package during the first GFC.

For any Reds in NSW
Quote
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=217146491692691
Reds supporters are invited along with their kids and family to come along to our first ever LFC NSW Xmas BBQ event. This is specifically so long-suffering partners and children can come along and meet the other supporters families and enjoy a christmas event together.
We will be reserving a bbq site, and hanging up some LFC banners so everyone knows where we are. We will update closer to the event once we sort out which bbq site we will be using. There is plenty of parking available at the Parklands, as well as being surrounded by multiple bus stops.
Free sausage sizzle will be provided but if you want steak, salads or grog please feel free to bring your own. Bring along some picnic chairs, blankets, etc if you feel you will need them.
We will also be bringing along a few footballs so we can have a kickaround with the kids, and Santa will also make an appearance to hand out a gift to every child who comes along.
Please RSVP via Facebook only if you are actually coming as we will be using the numbers for catering. We would also request that you add any adults to the invite list and post on the wall how many kids you will bring along so we can make sure we have a present for each one from Santa.
Look forward to seeing everyone there!!

Just moved house and still ahevn't paid my membership. Was down in Cheers for the Ireland match on Saturday morning was a blast. They're getting very strict on the door these days.
I remember years ago doing the fart with your fingers pointed like a gun.

I did it to my brother, I had a dressing gown on.

Instead of farting I shat on the floor - my brother thought I was demented.

Jesus when it rains it pours! As per above moving house and it's costing us quite literally an arm and a leg. Then in the meantime I check my mailbox and they have assigned me a case worker as of last thursday so I have lost a few days to get everything together.

Forgot one of the forms (that they hadn't mentioned on the checklist) and need a few other things, stress of it all and I have to move house in the middle of it all. On top of being smashed broke. Deligthed to finally get a case worker but terrified now one of the forms I submitted and one I didn't has pretty much the same element of where I'd travelled. Have no record and the two won't match up as I can't find the copy of the one I submitted.

Rant over, stress ongoing!

I did it to my brother, I had a dressing gown on.

Instead of farting I shat on the floor - my brother thought I was demented.

Could somebody tell me how the entry points systemw orks for residency please?
even those without the concept of toilets form a group and if you're one of them you care about these motherfucking free-shitters and you conform to their norms. Because if you fucking didn't they would send you back into the world of toilet usage.
