rafa, please just go for it this year... please. we really have nothing to lose anymore.
table says the main difference (so far ) between  us and Man U is the 2 draws. interestingly we've scored about the same and they have conceded about 3 less goals. to be honest so far Rafa's been the width of a post wrong
Goodbye & thank you Rafa. You've given us more than we ever had a right to expect from you and you stayed loyal and fought for us even when some of our own turned on you. I truly hope that you find somewhere with the support that you deserve & win everything in sight.

can u explain ureself mate. are forums not a matter of oponions? are u saying rafas decision making has been good. i believe i have raised some valid points

I'm saying there's far too many Johnny-come-latelys who have nothing positive to contribute to the forum, to the club, to anything really.

Nothing to do with what I posted. Too many people are afraid of Man United, it's totally embarassing. What's better- the players playing with a positive vibrant crowd supporting them all the way, or a bunch of whinging c*nts sitting on their hands and biting their nails? Win our games and we'll win the league. Oh, and by the way, it IS in our hands.

No its not in our hands and i'll tell you why. United will rarely if anything now drop points and have a game in hand still, the momentum is with them. We had the chances to put a cushion there and we bottled it.

Its in there hands.

Everyone drops points. Chelsea and Man Utd will be thinking, why didn't we beat Newcastle this season for example. And on the whole Rafa's decisions have been good, eg bringing Babel on agains the Mancs and playing Lucas in the Newcastle game.
I did not have a long speech prepared for the players. My notes from the game show there was one message I wanted to drill into them. It is written in Spanish. Lucharlo. Fight for it.

People starting to get a bit pissed off, cos we've seen the mancs turn a 8 point deficit around in a week.

Hope Rafa and the players are just as pissed off, because if this c*nt of a last 7 days doesn't stir us into life nothing will.

Agree with Walshy's Mullet over this ' controlling' the game but coming away with a point buisness, due to being too cautious. I hate the mancs as much as most reds, but one thing you can't about them is that they are cautious.

We can't put it down to luck every time they get a late goal.

I'm not going to debate it with you any more, but the fact is, if we win all our remaining games, we win the league. That, in my opinion, means it's still in our hands.

Isn't that one of those 2 way arguments though, cos if the mancs win all their remaining games they'll win the League.

Monday we will see if Rafa and the boys have the appetite for a scrap for the title.

A draw I regret to say will mean the end of our Premier League assault.

Get real will yer?

This situation is exactly what rednose was on about when he suggested we might "choke" with the pressure of a run-in with them.  What we have to do now is show that bastard that we can go toe to toe with them all the way.  Of course the media will say "Alex won the title for Utd in the last 7 days with superb mindgames" but fuck 'em, let them wank over him if they want.

in sone respects, i think we will do better if we have to chase from behind.  It's how we do things best - boro (H), city (a), Hull (H) .... istanbul 05, west ham 06 etc.

Long way to go yet and United won't keep doing this 1-0 thing.  They are merely going through a spell like we did earlier in the season with late wins.

I just posted this elsewhere, but still.

Now i think we realise when we are drawing, like the mancs today, we need to press abit more and go for it. The gamble of going for 3 points outweighs settling for 1 (therefore 2 dropped) when looking to win the title imo. If it turns out we went for it and lost, it's *just* a point dropped, but with our quality, and vs lower league teams more often than not we'd get a winner.
If he scores more goals than Torres this season ill change me name to Carol.

There's nothing lucky about it. Okay, you get the odd bit of luck. You also get decisions going your way. But that's how you win titles.

Ask anyone who remembers the great years, we done the same thing all the time.

It's there's to lose. We have to win it. We won't be getting any gifts

IF we dont win the league this year we have one man to blame. some of rafas decisions this year are mindboggling. we should be 5-6 points clear at least.

He got us there. He's put in the hard work and he should be thanked for us having our best chance in years..... Could maybe take on the dea of pelting forward or a win though.

As some of the brighter amongst us have said, it is still in our hands.

If we win our games we win the title.

The key point which some are forgetting is the trip to Old Trafford.

We don't have to have Man U drop any points, we can take points off them ourselves.

I would love to know these games were we haven't gone for it.

Stoke last 5 minutes hit the bar and post

Arsenal El Zhar inches wide with a header at the end

Villa Keane one one one at the end

We haven't taken our chances that has been the difference
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

Sorry what? Its in our hands? Well if its in our hands its also in Uniteds hands as they have an extra game still.

And that last line was effing ridiculous even for on here. Theres been years of league pain, years. The reason why its grating so much at the moment was those sequence of draws in november, where a lot of us KNEW we needed an advantage taken. I think a lot of people look stupid on here now after all the 'we're still top. we're still seven points clear' and all the rest of that garbage.

Give me strength. We never 'went for it at Villa. We certainly didnt go for it at Arsenal, in fact we were worse in the last 25 minutes than anything ive seen bar Stoke. We waited 85 minutes at Stoke before we decided to actually attack them properly.

Straw grasping of the amazing kind there.

I think the key point is our attitude/game plan/formation at Anfield.

Yet again, the same as last season our record at home is not good enough and it is our form at home that is going to dictate whether we are in the mix or not come May.

I've heard Rafa on various occasions proudly describe himself as a 'calm' coach; by many accounts his attention to detail & meticulous approach to the game is second to none. This perhaps manifests itself in Rafa's reluctance to abandon his chess like view of football when an emotive gun ho approach is required i.e. the need for risky formations/substitutions, ala Istanbul. Logically we still had enough quality to beat Stoke. Problem is, the premiership requires a less tactical approach than in Europe.

I just think Rafa's overcautious approach is central to man himself and likely to continue to frustrate many of us. This approach makes the return to form of individualists like Torres and Babel more important as they can transcend the team's cautious ambition by making things happen on their own.
