Getting Tickets for Madrid
« on: January 5, 2009, 10:14:20 PM »
A bit of help please lads;

Basically booking my tickets for madrid and was wondering as i wont be eligible for a ticket in our end how easy would it be to get one outside the ground on matchday and how much am i looking at.

Did the same for Barca a few years back and was lucky to get a ticket and a good deal (but that was due to the high capacity of the camp nou).

Thanks in advance and any advice greatly appreciated.   :wave

£2.50 and a Twix.

I'm in exactly the same situation mate, luck of the draw i imagine, i wouldnt know to be honest.

Cant afford to pay silly amounts for the ticket though, if worst comes to worse - i'll just watch it in a bar.

As i said in the main thread there seemed to be shit loads of arse fans all over the ground when they played Real so the tickets may not have been that hard to come by. That being said, you'd have to assume demand will be higher for this game as the 3rd most successful european team of all time are coming to town and coupled with the whole spanish influence this will be a big draw for the Madrid fans. Your best bet is to get onto an arsenal forum to be honest.

I went to a Madrid league game a while back before their last 16 home game against Juve. We went back for a stadium tour a few days before the Juve game and there were lots of people selling tickets outside the ground. However I'm pretty certain they were all touts selling in the Madrid end - I don't know the prices they were selling at but I would hazard a guess it wasn't face value...

you will get a ticket no probs. just hang outside the ground. when touts first approach act cool and say something like..."sorry mate, only got 40 quid on me"  the tout will walk off but he will remember you when he has a few left 5 minutes before kick off and he has already made a sweet sum off the other idiots who pay 80 or more.  if you are still floating about chances are he will come back to you and offer it to you for the 40.

otherwise a nice genuine fan outside the ground.... :) it has worked for me a few times so good luck...get in there son! :)

Problem with that usually is that they only sell tickets to locals with Spanish passports if there are any returns..... i seem to remember it was the case in Barca two years ago.

Good point. I went to watch Lazio V Livorno last year in Rome. Bought a cheap ticket off a tout and got refused entry because it was not my name on the ticket when they wanted to see my passport.  Went back to the tout and told him if he didn't refund my ticket I would batter him into next week.  Got my money back :)

Ended up lining up at the fan store for an hour to get a legit ticket.  Then walk into a two thirds empty stadium. :(

Theres 4 of us going but only 3 defo tickets. I would pay upto 80 quid outside but hoping to swap a home ticket for an away ticket before any haggling starts!

Split the cost of the extra between all 4 of ya.

Last away game I was at, was Inter away last season.  Loads of Liverpool fans in the Inter end, during the game all moved to the corner behind the goal in the Liverpool end.

Maybe the same will happen in Madrid?

There was an article in Spanish paper AS yesterday saying that real madrid have received over 5000 applications for tickets for the leg at anfield while they have only got 2,400 tickets from liverpool.

Now i know you lot are talking about the game at the bernabeu, but the fact that so many real fans are willing to travel to their away leg shows that they see this as a massive tie. they aren't known for travelling well. there will be big demand from real supporters for home tickets as well. also due to our spanish connection we are well liked over in spain and i reckon a fair few non-madrid supporters will be trying to snap up tickets to see the mighty reds. therefore i don't think it'll be as easy as some are expecting to get tickets through real madrid for the first leg.

I've been to a league game at the bernabeu a couple of seasons ago and it was hard enough to get tickets for that because of the way they are distributed. of course there will be plenty of touts at the ground, and they will have a field day with this one.

Not exactly correct. They sold them to any and all non-UK passports.  ;)

Does anyone know when our tickets for this are likely to go on sale from past experience?
Thanks.

Inter details came out on 7th Feb last year so will only be a week or so before I would think? Mind you, that isn't that far off now!

I'd expect them to be announced after the 2nd Derby and Portsmouth have sold out. So probably the week of the Chelsea game.

For those looking to buy a ticket in the Madid end, the cheapest ticket for the general public is 60 Euros.  It's 25 Euros for their season ticket holders.  Can see the touts' prices being huge for this.

Heard a rumour that we might be charged around 100 Euros for this but hoping that it's just a rumour! 60 is bad enough with the current exchange rate but given that it's Real...!

Day trips are ok if you have to be in work the next day, in 25 years of trying Ive never been able to find any other way of getting back from a euro away (out of the UK of course) for 07.00 the next morning.

www.servicaixa.com is Atletico's official ticket agency and it seems like it's the same for Real. They say tickets will go on sale on-line on the 3rd of february at 10am.
I just checked how they handle it for their match against Deportivo and it's quite simple... The only thing I still struggle to find out is where exactly the away end is. I asked some lad working on the pitch when we visited the stadium in october and he told me it was in fondo norte (highest tier). Still on that servicaixa-page you're able to select your seats in these blocks as well so this can't be the away section really...

Never been to a Euro away but really want to get to Madrid to watch us.  Have never done it because I'm petrified of flying and haven't left the country in about 8 years because of it.  Would really love for my first return to European soil to be with Liverpool FC in Madrid, but I'm not at all hopeful.
