Ex-red or not, I can't fucking stand him.

Can I hear the faint laughter of Thommo and Houllier ?

Thing is, they wouldn't.

He played for us and deserves a little respect

so you're saying you would be sympathetic if say, Diouf spent the next 5 years in a team constantly getting relegated??

Cos I sure as hell wouldnt, ex red or not

I don't know what they expected appointing a manager with no Premiership experience and having let two of its best 3 players go with the 3rd wanting to join them elsewhere.

Read an interesting article today, can't remember the broadsheet now. It was basically saying that it was his 50 odd caps for England that got him a shot at managing a top division club in England, after spending only a matter of months in the lower divisons.

The piece went on to compare this with Capello who spent 6 years coaching the Milan kids. First with the under 16s, then the under 18s and so on. He earn't his right to manage at the highest level.

Ince hadn't proved anything and will struggle to come back from this IMO.

Ex-red or not, I can't fucking stand him.

Spot on. Ferguson got something right when calling him a "Big time Charlie!"

He was also the one who turned up to melwood one day to fins his locker cleared out and his stuff in a bag, because he wanted the other players to call him "Gaffa/Guvnor"(depending on who's telling you). Then when he was booted out he said that that Houllier and Thompson would "drag the club down" - this before the famous treble season - oh yeah he fucking loves us he does.

I fucking hate Ferguson, but he was right with "Big Time Charlie".

Thought so, also a bit in carras book about Houllier really putting him in his place... bit of a big mouth i think.

He was totally inexperienced for the Premiership anyway.Quite a big step for him it was and surely a dream but we all saw that coming since he was appointed in June.

Yep Ince was giving it and Houllier turned around to him in front of everyone and said "Do you know how many 5-a-sides you've won in the past 8 months (I think) in training? I'll tell you. None!"

No because he was and is a right gobshite

also Thommo and Houllier won't be laughing because they ended up wasting a shit load of money on average gobshites like Diouf and making wrong moves at every turn. alienating good players and bring in shite to litter our team.

See: Paul Ince.

You can have your little pop at Houllier but the fact is Ince had written us off to the dogs when he left, "dragging the club down" was his quote. Even the most Stevie Wonder-esque of people can see in the time after Ince said this Houllier took us to domestic success with 2 league cup wins, the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup, and had us finishing 2nd - with a points total that would have won the league in almost every other Premier League season, as well as having the guts to come back from major surgery instead of just retire, and on a huge night.

They'll be pissing themselves because what they achieved in their short period of success Ince can only dream of achieving as a boss.  He's waited all his life to get to this point and is staring down the barrel of going back to a huge club like the MK Dons.

Hold on Ince took over a blackburn side who had (and still only have) one real outstanding player after the summer. The rest of the squad are a bunch of averages, could be's or has been's where was he going to take them when he didnt have serious money to spend(considering summer business getting them £19m odd in and spending on just robinson and that lad from the Dons as far as i can remember.

Houllier took over a team that included players like James, Friedel, Carragher, Berger, Mcmanaman, Murphy, Redknapp, Fowler and Owen.

I think thats a huge gulf in class in where each manager started and the resources available

I'm not saying Ince did a good job - he didn't. but i don't believe that thommo and houllier have any right to be chuckling at him for what they did in their time here - wasnt our best days even if 2000-01 was a good season.

Shocker.

Can't blame him for taking the job in the first place.  At least he showed ambition.  A question must be asked of the board though.  From MK Dons straight to the Premiership?  When it was crucial to get someone in that would see to it Mark Hughes's good work didn't go to waste?  Why the fuck did they go and appoint him in the first place?

Shocker? Hardly.

Ince to blame? Not really. Another case of a stupid board making stupid decisions and the manager gets the boot.

Like him or not, he'll return. He still has to prove whether or not he can cut it as a manager at a decent level.

Fine job by the Blackburn board there i reckon, get rid of Ince, and then look like replacing him with Mr Souness. That's the end of them in top flight football for a while then.

I would be utterly devastated if i were a Blackburn fan. The way the board has committed suicide in the footballing sense since Mark Hughes left is laughable.

Ferguson got something right when calling him a "Big time Charlie!"

Well he seems to get many things right, looking at his trophy collection.

Anyway, taggart comes across as some hard bastard, but you look at some of the players a lot of them had/have big egos. Taggart allowed them to work on that.
And thus they come across as c*nts everyone dislikes.

Just look at Ronaldo.

If the likes of Ince or Keane had been at anfield (first) they wouldn't have ended up like that.

I know one of the Blackburn players (who I will not name on here) and he told me very early in the season to put a wedge on both Blackburn to go down and Ince to get sacked sometime before the end of the season.

Pity I did neither.......

No real surprise, wasn't really convinced he was the right man for the job in the beginning. Wonder who they'll get now to try and salvage a rescue operation?
You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

It's okay, sometimes even an advantage, to be deficient as a person/an absolute cock as a player, but it's a bit of a drawback when you're managing others.

Too much too soon for Ince. He should have stuck it out at MK Dons for another season or looked into moving into the Championship.

I'm sure he'll get another chance though.

Just another example of boards making daft decisions and not being liable for their actions.

I hate the man but you don't know much do you:

Macclesfield:
When he joined were 8 points off safety and bottom of the league.  He arrived and they stayed up on the last day.

MK Dons:
Won the Football League trophy
Won League 2 Championship and promotion

His only failure was in the huge step up to Blackburn.

Hope those c*nts are relgated
Don't think that's the real problem - Ince got this job too early for him - needed to serve a longer apprenticeship
