Really beautiful frogs, Gala. I've been thinking of getting some myself for a while, but I'll be moving soon, so I've had to put it on a backburner for now. Nice pics and vids.

This hobby is costly but very rewarding as well. I can watch the frogs for hours, very interesting and very bold creatures.

By the way, Morelia viridis girl just shed, here is a post-shed pic:

One of my most beautiful and expensive tarantulas just molted, the picture is not the best, due to the spider being very skittish, I could only take one picture with my phone.

So I took the little she-devil outside today to take some pictures under natural light without flash. Here are the results of that. I think she looks amazing...

Also, I had my first tarantula escape story. Yesterday I watered the plants in the Poecilotheria metallica enclosure and left the cage door ajar, like 5 cms or so but that was enough. Fortunately, I found her hidden in the cupboard. Before putting her back, I dared to hold her and take a picture. She is just amazing looking:

ps: If you wonder why my hands are filthy, it is because I was working in the yard before taking the pic. :)

The good thing is all the animals are contained in a locked room in case something like this happens so it took me only about 10 minutes to find the little girl.

I introduce a bit of water to my Parabuthus villosus once every other month or so and they immediately start drinking. Water dries up in a few minutes as I put it directly under the heat source so they gotta be fast anyway. It is like watching creatures get together around a watering hole in Africa, on a small scale of course ;).

Here are a couple pictures for you guys:

I've got a timed misting system installed in Suarez' enclosure now so much less hassle than misting by hand twice a day. Funny thing is he's gone off his food since so it just goes to show how what seems like a small change can have a big affect on these creatures.

I have a similar system with the frogs and it works great. Is he eating yet?

After some trading in the Hamm show, I have managed to save enough money to get a pair of these beauties. Being mainland Australian death adders, they are very rare in captive collections outside of Australia. These come from Dajarra and are adapted to desert life pretty well. Hoser classified them as Acanthophis woolfi but there is still a debate about the actual classification. They are breath taking animals whatever their scientific name ends up being. Here are a couple pictures and a small video:

He's eating but will only eat morio worms at the moment. He won't even eat silkworms which he used to go mad for so the only worry is getting the supplements right. I'm looking for a good liquid supplement to make sure he gets what he needs. I got some good pictures of him soaking up real UV outside this morning so he's really dark.

Looks like you enjoyed Hamm by the way, loving the pair of Death Adders. Are you going to breed them?

Yep, the plan is to breed them eventually but that is three years down the line. Hamm was very productive. Made a profit of 1700 Euros and promptly spent it :). In addition  to the adders, I have also picked up a male Aspidelaps lubricus lubricus, great colors. I have fed everyone today with no problems. Here are a few more pictures:

Here is the start of the mating ritual of the scorpion species from Namibia, Parabuthus villosus. The male is the orange morph and the female is the black morph. The male is trying the position the female on a stable ground where he can deposit his spermatophore and transfer it to the female. It will probably take a few hours.

My orange male has been an adult for about 6 months and black female for 3 months. My intention was to breed these to see the color of the babies and so far it is going good. They have been together for a couple hours now.

Aspidelaps lubricus lubricus aka Cape Coral Snake. Not a cobra but a closely related elapid. Venom is also similar to Naja pallida aka Red Spitting Cobra but they don't have as much venom so much less dangerous.

The followers of this thread will remember that last year I bred a tarantula species called P.murinus and had 159 babies. (Pg# 12 and 13 for more info on the breeding). I've kept one holdback and here it is, about a year old already, time flies... The radius of the holes in the plastic container are about a cm for size reference.

Thank you, I take pride in that. Many reptile keepers almost go to the extreme of animal hoarding, where animals get substandard care. If you can not provide the optimum care, don't buy the animal, very simple.

I just fed the snakes by the way, the Aspidelaps lubricus lubricus was very hungry. He just shed yesterday and it was obvious he wanted the mouse, he was rattling his tail like an expert rattlesnake, very funny to watch. I took a couple pictures for you guys:

He is sexy this one :)
