It starts today! With a mouth watering opener... England vs Finland... Fancy a bet Jonne?

Anyone else going? I will be with my son...not sure where I am sitting... tickets at home!

Looking forward to some summer football.

And the award for 'Most Blatant Improvisation and Lying to Disguise the Fact You've Never Seen a Certain Player In Your Entire Life' goes to...

Stuart Pearce.

'I like Sparv, he's a good player. I think collectively, the strenght of Finland is their collectiveness, that's their strength.'

Sparv was at Southampton for 3 years, and never made a single appearance for the first team. He then moved to Halmstads BK, who I can't imagine Pearce gets to watch a lot of, and I highly doubt that he closely watched Finalnd's friendly against Japan, which is one of just 2 caps he has.

Think people are underestimating Finland over here. Can just see England losing due to your central midfielders breaking forward and exposing our lack of dm to get at our shaky defence.

If I was England U21 manager, I would go:

Hart
Cranie-Tomkins-Nedum-Gibbs
Milner-Mancienne-Noble (c)-Johnson
GA-Walcott

If Nedum is out for this one, I would probably go for Stearman alongside Tomkins and hope his lack of ability on ball and lack of pace doesn't get exposed.

rowan, he could have watched Sparv on tape or for the Finland U21's

Can't wait for tonight! No bets please because I really don't fancy our chances tonight. Surely we are underdogs but England should not underestimate Finland.

Pearce have watched every single game Finland have played within past few years. No doubt about it. Sparv was only a kid when he was at Southampton and have done well for Halmstad.

Sparv is far from a top player in the swedish league. I think he has been OK, but no more. Afterall it's a weak league.

Difficult to picik Englands starting line up, but I hope Andrew Driver gets a chance.

These should start...
Hart, Onuoha, Richards, Milner, Johnson, Muamba, Noble, Walcott, Agbonlahor. The rest is a guess.

Cant stant Halmstad...what a ground to start at... Real shitty Ground this is.

                            Sadik

This is more likely, this is the lineup that started against Belarus last week.  Although I'd like to see Pukki in place of Parikka in a 4-4-2, but Kanerva fancies HJK players, so...
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

His contract run out at the end of last year.  Do you know if it was renewed?

Ilta-Sanomat today wrote he's still working for us so I assumed he signed a new contract.

So much for the end of the normal season meaning there's no sports on. Past few days have been brilliant and the same for the next few days. I'll be flicking through this and the cricket.

Thought so too until they showed the replay on sky and the Finnish lad kicks his own foot.

Finland comfortably the better side so far. Look technically very good.

He is quite highly rated. Sadik was promoted to our first team against Russia last week. He was on the bench but didn't get any minutes. He certainly is talented but IMO he moved to abroad too early and didn't get a lot of minutes in Bundesliga.
