These glaring misses didn't cost us today, but they have in recent games, and may will cost us again in the future. We gotta learn to take them one-yarders. Anyway, happy today.

Dion is quite a good analyst to be fair.

I thought he did a very good job of explaining why the goal was disallowed at HT, only for Keys to ignore him completely and try to press the "Bolton were robbed" agenda.

Too many missed chances... Gerrard's and Keane's the most clear ones. Not usual either seeing Torres missing a one to one with the keeper. Add to that the two woodworks and Lucas header... it could have been a clearer win.

Second goal is lovely. Gerrard and Torres changing roles I'd say.

I'd invite you round to ours to watch the match with fans who used to follow us home and away, but I fear you might get upset at all the criticism.

Hmmm...something not quite right here, me thinks.  Click on this guy's name and take a quick scroll down the messages he has posted to date - all about a sentence long and pretty much every other one slagging someone off as 'tart', 'golden boy' etc, etc.

Dion is quite a good analyst to be fair.

He is, because he doesn't have any kind of agenda, and isn't trying to force his opinions on anyone. Refreshing, but Sky will probably force that out of him the longer he stays.

Should be more ruthless and finish off our chances but a well deserved win nonetheless. Three points, top of the league, Torres gets a little run out, so things are looking good. Need to keep this run going.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Just the fact that you singled him out for what was nothing more than a 5 minute cameo.

He certainly won't be great but I'm sure he'll make a competent midfielder for some mid table Spanish or Italian team.

Yes, I singled him out hoping that someone might actually look back and see what he did. He didn't dribble the whole team and scored with his left nostril, but he did well the little time he had. He should have scored, but so should Torres on the pass.

IF he and Torres had scored, it would be 1 goal and 1 assist on 'a five minute cameo'
Now, I realize he didn't and it's pointless of talking of what could have been, but my point is that he did well. I was pleased with what he did, and seeing he gets alot, and I mean ALOT of unfair stick on here, I thought I'd mention him in my assessment.

Gerrard's had a bit of a sloppy game today.

There were quite a lot of missed chances, but we have 3 points! Awesome.

i think xabi for 1st half motm and torres for 2nd half. Torres changed the game and you clearly see the dynamism he presents to our team. You never realize how much we miss his ability until he comes back.

Regarding chances missed:

It is a slight - though only slight - worry, but I would stress that there's no difference between us Utd and Arsenal, it's only Chelsea who are way out in front. Those other sides have also had at least 3 seasons with a similar core of players learning each others games and in Utd/Arsenal's case, doing so within already very established attacking outfits.

Now compare our side to three seasons ago...it's only this season that we've really got the players to have started to establish our own possession-based attacking style, I don't think it's surprising that there's a little rustiness in terms of finishing and final ball. I'm very confident that it will come with time though, and if it really clicks this season then we'll surely be strong challengers in the League and CL.

Lucas in the attacking half is what we want to see

shouldn't play as holding midfielder because it doesn't suit him but bloody hell comes alive when hes playing further forward gets on the end of balls(should have finished) and winning balls and laying them on a plate for others(should have scored LOL)
