What is going on with the support?  This year even the aways are pretty shite.  I wasn't there at Stoke yesterday but some of the others have been dire.  You expect the odd bad one but its definitely getting worse.  I expected Arsenal to be great but it was just average.  Preston was good but that was only becase we had loads of fans.  Everton was fantastic but thast shouldn't really count because of the result.

Personally, I think we are all too uptight about the result to enjoy the matches but that just my opinion.
Agree with everything you say and even more so on the uptight bit. I think because it has been so long, everyone is getting uptight and can't enjoy the matches like you say.

fair enough we may struggle now and then in saturday evening ties v stoke in the freezin cold, but can't think of a worse atmosphere than that, home prem matches are bad but again better or on a par with most other teams in the prem and considerin there is 75 thousand cockneys crammed in to the septic tank every week they are quiet apart from the big few and even then it is repetative chanting about us, e.g are you watchin merseyside about 40 times today. Euro nights are something else that they can never live up to especially the fact they have got a 35,000 advantage, and euro aways they try but they're nothin compared to us. we've got points in the bag they've still gorra get throught them two local 'ish' derbies with wigan and bolton unscathed to get past us.
see what happens, 2 good wins against everton and followed by wigan then chelsea at home and we'll be back on track, get torres fit and keane with a bit of confidence with skrtel back in the back 4 we'll be alright. fuckin horrible manc twat
Totally agree mate.

Our support can be bad, we have to face up to it. If we ever get so bad that our manager and captain complain about how shit we are, like ferguson and roy keane did, then we know we've slumped to super-wank manc levels of support.
Err, Rafa and the booing comments?

Really dont get whats going wrong, thought it would be bouncing yesterday but as steelersmark said there was fuck all from our crowd.

Can only put it down to pressure which is a fucking lame arse excuse
pressure should be riling us and it should be bouncing, but think the song police have got a lot to do with it, don't sing this sing that, act cool as fuck, also the average man is being outpriced massively and therefore the wealthier corporates and absolute blurts are getting more and more abundant even at away days, for example pink haired lad at blackburn away, or the nobs who were stood 4 to 2 seats at preston next to me, and when i sed give us some room their argument was "they are my mates and cousin i want to all stand together for this", fuckin nobs they soon shuffled over thought the fuckin gobshites, didnt here them pipe up with any songs or nothin just stood there muttering "cum on livurrrpowll

Agree every game this season has felt like a European tie. Not in the sense that were playing Barcelona and Milan week in week out but in the sense that there is a lot riding on every game and we cant afford any slip ups.
I only drink on special occasions. Like Fridays and Saturdays. The occasional Sunday. Sometimes even Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Never Thursday. Well, every so often maybe a Thursday.

Next away is against Wigan, we get 4.500 seats, no matter how the result aginast blueshite, let´s have a fucking party and support our boys, they need it. The support against Stoke was terrible, why does it feel like everytime we meet a team with good support, we´re just quiet, like Sunderland, Stoke etc, why don´t we raise our voice even more, we´re just sitting back and thinking...what´s the point, they can´t hear us or something like that.

Anyway, how many days before the match does usually the ticket exchange topic for that game open?
At Half time AC thought they had us beat
The Blueshite were dancing in the North Wales Streets
But Stevie G played like a man posessed
And all they have now is their Bitterness!

is 100% spot on, some think its more of catwalk than going the game, fair does if you like your decent clobber - ive nothing against that, but i remember at the Arsenal Liverpool League cup game a few years back, some lad walking up the stairs with his dad and these three lads next to me sneering at him and laughing at his trainees, sad c*nts.

It is sad as fuck people treat going to the match as a way of showing off yer clobber.

Get on with getting behind the fucking team rather than laugh at other people's gear. Sad fuckers

Also I agree with someone above about the 'song police' sing that, don't sing that, no-one knows what the fuck to sing and it's got to the point of nothing getting sang.  At the last Home CL game the whole time in 306 a guy was constantly shouting out "OH WHEN THE REDS" etc, fair play to him for trying to get the song going but, ffs surely there must have been another song he could've thought of. or maybe it's like above said he was so worried the 'song police' might have been on to him in a flash he could think of nothing else.

Come on guys for the rest of the season lets start leading the way against like we always have done, I feel a song coming on :

Oh Campioni  ;D

The problem with these knob heads who laugh at what others are wearing is that they are so busy trying to be unique they can't see how sheeplike they are. They all dress the same for fucksake.

They think they invented 'terrace culture' when most of them wouldn't know a terrace if it was shoved up their arse.
If you weren't there when it happened you don't have a clue what it's about. It can't be recreated because it just happened and evolved.

Wannabee Ultras most of them.
Maybe spending a few games on one of the Curvas would open their eyes a bit, instead of acting like gobshites.

Stoke at the weekend was full of the usual suspects and it was dire.

The bottom line mate, in the old days there were no rules, or if there were any they were unwritten.  You became immersed in the culture and after a while you instinctively knew what was "right" and what was "wrong".  We sang "Easy". We sang "Who the fucking hell are you". We sang "Deano". We sang "England's, Number One" and "Walshy for England"

I agree that RTK was needed but I think some of those behind it must be cringing at how some people are now applying it.  People who have no feeling for how it was are trying to rigidly enforce rules that define whether you belong or are a bad daytripping wool.  Any attempt to enforce rules so rigidly destroys spontaneity.  Who'd dare start a new song at the match now?

Did the old Kop ever go along with being coerced into anything?

I used to get moved so much when we scored despite not wanting to like.

Remember we scored one game years ago, and from being just to the left on the goal as you stand on the Kop, ending up down by the Kemlyn Road corner-flag.

on loads of board the "TRAINEES" related threads get the most posts! They are fucking trainers ffs who gives a flying fuck.

It is childish, playground bullying and the people taking the piss actually think they are achieving something?

I thought LFC particularly is/was about being unique.

When any group is set up there will always be different factions within it and people dictating to others will be met with a fuck off which causes even more problems as both sides think they are right.

What these people preaching do not realise is they actually fracture the fan base more than any other group.

If people just sang there would be no problem but no one does, only a few hundred sing at the ground.  So many complain but the cure is plain to see, sing!

good point about the singing but can't say the trainer thread is bad, might be a bit childish and that but no harm in postin ya trainees on a messageboard is it. don't agree with ripping people at the match or face to face, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of banter on a messageboard, where everyone is behind their keyboards. if anything if you've got a good pair of trainees and you like them ya wanna show them off and show they're a bit unique.

by the way have you got a pair of 2 stripes asda ones?

However Wanker Hats and man utd half and halfs (well english team ones) need rippin face to face coz makes us all look like a bunch of welsh rugby union supporters.

Is right VDM.
When they recorded The Kop Choir album, The Kop wouldn't sing on queue so it could be recorded.
It was the same when Gerry Marsden turned up with a film crew and they were trying to direct The Kop again......no chance.

Not a Nikeeeeeeee fan anyway, but how horrible are they??

I don't like Nikeeeee Clobber anyway,as I believe it's aimed at the American market, whereas Adidas is a European thing.  Adi Dassler (what a name) created the screw in studs and was given alot of credit for the German National side winning a World Cup due to his new "boots" which were more of a Trainer type thing than the old style boots players were used to in those days.

It's like the football "boots" now, they're more like dancing shoes than boots, I was with a young kid (20) in a Nike shop and he thought that the 'boots' that Ronaldo wears were proper boots and the ones I liked, the more shall we say Retro looking leather boots, Black with white Nike stripe were in his words "defenders boots" just shows you how these sports company's dictate what we wear.  to kick a leather football (granted its coated in synthetic material) players now use plastic boots, whereas in my days of playing football we used leather boots and players who turned up in these new fancy coloured boots were kicked off the park.  How times have changed.  My last pair of boots I had were Umbro Speciali and I can honestly say they were the best, most comfortable boots I ever had.  and if I started playing again I'd still wear them now.

Nothing to do with our great support really but, just illustrating how times have changed.  And it all starts on the terraces (or stands) around the country.

Never.

I remember the phase of the inflatables. Every other club adopted them apart from us. One mid week game some bloke brought an inflatable pink flamingo as the nearest think to a Liverbird he could find. Think he did it out of sarcasm and it got a good old laugh.

I did mate, but as I said earlier that was then.......now is different.

NO.

We innovate we don't follow, that was and is as far as I'm concerned the ONLY unwritten rule on the Kop.  From the old days of the Spion Kop right through to today on the Kop Grandstand.

If someone is impressed with something that costs 100 quid and feels they need to show it off thinking that people are actually interested then i feel sorry for them.

it may have been good in the 70's but having a pair of trainers is hardly impressive now.  If you had a car like some in the car park at match day i might be impressed

Shouldnt these sad c*nts be eyeing up the birds anyway instead of looking lads up and down

and i am sure there is usually a match on match day to watch!

Sunderland first game was ok if i remember rightly..

good point about the singing but can't say the trainer thread is bad, might be a bit childish and that but no harm in postin ya trainees on a messageboard is it. don't agree with ripping people at the match or face to face, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of banter on a messageboard, where everyone is behind their keyboards. if anything if you've got a good pair of trainees and you like them ya wanna show them off and show they're a bit unique.
yeh yeh as i said i like buying smart clothes and trainees myself, but at the same time i think you should treat fellow reds with respect and if youve gone the game with your dad, you shouldnt be getting ripped cos they dont like the colour of your trainers.

We're going round in circles a bit her, but at the end of the day, its all about supporting your team, and some people don't do this as much as they think they do, irrespective of where they're from/what they wear/where they sit/how long they've been going the match.

Though I'd still like to think our originality and character (however you define that) outweights the lack of noise at many of our home games.
