Everton fans don't really think we're murderers, in fact they know we're not,it's just a way for them to get at us because they haven't got fuck all else going for them and even though united have lorded it over us for a decade or more we still get right up their noses so they sing about us too. These murderers/hillsborough chants weren't around in the late 80s early 90s , it's just as society in general has become shite that all this shite has happened between us and the blues. What happened to the spirit of '89 and the scarves across the park. Fuckin sad.

It wasn't bragging about 'Murdering' or anything to do with past gestures.

Everton certainly don't give a flying fuck about them when thousands of people direct the bile in our direction. It's a 'We don't care what you say, so fuck off' thing.
I know. I do understand the irony, and I don't think the people who sang it were taking the piss out of the dead of Heysel for one second. I do get it. I still think it's wrong.

Think about this - next time Kelvin McKenzie's on question time, and someone suggests he apologises for his lies about Liverpool fans, he can turn around and say they are still animals, they still sing about the dead of Heysel. He might be wrong, a liar and a twat, but there is no real right to reply and that's then on the record.

Its been getting sung for a few years duno what the uproar is for, if they can give it and cant take tough titty.

Its not our fault they are obsessed, bitter and in our shadow.
That they have no football songs to sing to their own teams and just sing about us.

Did anyone actively join in with the song who now regrets doing so?

But we do, so why sing that? Does that not make us just as bitter and pathetic when we can be so much better?

All youse whoppers using the anonymity of a message board to condemn this kind of behaviour, how come none of you have the bollocks to come up and ask us to stop singing?

A better piss take would have been to sing a couple of their songs to highlight how shite their support is. THAT would have had more of an impact and given us even more bragging rights for the few months.

That would be quality. Genius, mate. Proper irony. Imagine us singing ZCars in reaction to murderers  when 2-0 up at the shed - they would be frothing at the mouth.

The point is Wattie that it took two horrendous disasters and the loss of innocent lives to bring it home to us how wrong we were to sing about Munich.  I just hope for your sake you can learn from an internet forum instead.

Voice of sanity there.... this is the loss of people's LIVES being used for gutter chants - whoevers side its on makes no odds. To stoop to their level is wrong- the press didnt pick up on the Evertonians using it against us, only our fans retaliating. We should let them get on with making complete cocks of themselves

It is at gutter level now and BOTH sides have had a big part to play in it.

It's hard to pinpoint why. People say all sorts of different reasons from Emlyn Hughes to "the peoples club" to Everton winning nothing recently to society to the new generation of fans etc etc. That's not really worth wasting energy on. People should try and change it for the better instead of point scoring.

Yeah, some of our fans are twats and I find the Gerrard stuff embarrassing and don't join in with any of the murderers or Michael Shields crap either. Liverpool fans aren't the happy go lucky little angels I see some people talking about on here though, there's a lot of heads being buried in sand. Songs about Lescott, Carsley's baby etc are no better. Neither is chanting Munich at players with Utd connections or hitting Phil Neville last year.

But I know that most Liverpool fans aren't like that. Most of my family and some of my mates are reds and they're all good people. I'm sure a lot of you can say likewise about blues.

I think the clubs themselves could do a bit more to try and calm the situation down a bit too.

That's a decent post, and the bit I've highlighted is a very good idea, but I fear it will never happen.

Your right about both teams having their fair share of twats, but as I said earlier in the thread, the only time Liverpool fans concentrate on anything Everton is when we're playing you. The same can not be said about the opposite, as no matter what team you are playing, the anti Liverpool shite is heard loud and clear coming from a lot of your fans.

That makes him a prick and gives your mum all the moral high ground, though. That is what it is like at the match, on a big scale, until we respond in kind.

Forget the chant for a minute what must go through Moyes and their players minds, when they score a goal against Chelsea and burst out in song of the babys not yours ::)
In the UEFA cup last season if they scored a goal it was Ohhhhhhh Michael Shields.

Not one single fuckin song about their players or team not one.

Why dont Everton sort that out? Thats not supporting your team thats just being obsessed by the team they share the city with, if I was an Everton player Id go off my head.

I'll tell you what, me and fifty odd of my wall eyed, slack jawed, knuckle dragging, in bred top boys were singing this song on Satdee, and nobody challenged us, not anyone nor no one. All youse whoppers using the anonymity of a message board to condemn this kind of behaviour, how come none of you have the bollocks to come up and ask us to stop singing?

And what would you have done / said if they had? Enter into a serious and well thought out debate of the irony of what you were singing? Or told them to fuck off and called them fucking c*nts / beauts / whoppers / wools / oots / scallies / twats / homs / loser etc?

Maybe the slight chance of getting yer head kicked in or shouted down by fifty odd wall eyed, slack jawed, knuckle dragging, in bred top boys - maybe getting kicked out of the match - maybe dragging the name of the club through the shite as Sky would have loved to show closeups of Liverpool fans scrapping amongst themselves at a derby match live on TV - maybe a life ban / season ticket loss for scrapping at a match put them off?

OK I could be stretching it a bit I admit that, but we have already had 2 sections of the Kop shouting each other down recently for singing certain songs - not something anyone wants to see on a regular basis.

I agree that we are subjected to the most vile chants and gestures at some games, I jut dont agree that this was a justified response.

THE TRUTH?

Lord Justice Taylor's official inquiry into the disaster disparaged The Sun's story and was unequivocal as to the disaster's cause:

The Taylor Report stated that official cause of the disaster was the failure of police control.

Narr, what was going on was 'call us murderers if you like, we know we're not, we are pissing all over you and you're not going to wind us up with that shitty chant.'

However, it is still making light of a disaster in which people died and is therefore wrong in my opinion. It is doubly wrong since, although I don't really generally care what the media says about us, I would suggest that it is potentially important for the Justice Campaign that we don't get this sort of press. Just a thought.

I already have a Season Ticket and have done for nearly 10 years.

Yours, Snotty Nosed Little Prick.
don't be so down on yourself lad, in another say 14 years or so you may see the error of your ways
hopefully not like me, who's had to witness events close up, to realise the error of mine.

Anyone remember Anfield when the Rhys Jones family stood by the side of the pitch?...unity in the city?...pah!...
that show of respect was for Rhys and his family nothing to do with football , football was just the vehicle to express the sorrow and hurt we all felt and feel about that tragedy
My love is for Liverpool football club but also Lancashire county cricket club , the two greatest sports teams and clubs in the world .

Your on. OT last season in reaction to the Murders chant we were singing "give us a chance, we'll murder you"
I don't like to mention this, but we weren't winning. If we win there this year, and we don't respond to the inevitable filth with this or something similar, pm me and I'll buy you a pint.

And then we'll get 4th as well and everyone in the whole world can do one.

He was taking the piss out of an earlier post I think mate  ;)
