Pepe immense.  Result will do, win's a win. :)

Stevie MOTM
Carra
Babel
Reina

best players on the night. very shaky finish but we came through and got the 3 points.
I'm off to bed. Oh wait it's too early.
I am sick of hearing Rafa in all our post match chats now. He is NOT here.

He also had his bad points, bad substitutes, stubbornness with predictability. He wasnt perfect every week. Yes he did more good than bad but

Positives: Gerrard, Babel and Riera's late cameo.

Negatives: Lucas, Dossena and Kuyt's persitant losing of the ball.

Great strike from Gerrard to put us level and great composure from him to tuck away the 2nd penalty. Jamie Carragher was immense and Pepe Reina made some decent saves. Not a great performance but 3 points in the bag.

Great result, wobbly performance.

Inviting on way too much pressure from them, like we did in both Liege games. We'd have a goal kick and in seconds we'd be defending for our lives again.

Could easily have gone either way. What a 3 points to pick up though.

Thank christ we have Pepe Reina.  :)

Still, a draw wouldn't have been that bad of a result all things considered, and I thought it was a very good performance for most of the game.  We tired there near the end, but I'm totally made up.

Just giving Marseille a bit of hope in the second half so they'll be up for it against Atletico and PSV when they go there, all part of Rafa's masterplan...

Pepe Reina shows why he is the best goalie in the world, again.

Carra solid as a rock.

Gerrard = Mr Cool for the pen and Mr fantastic for the equalizer, top notch.

Very lucky in the end. As i said in the other thread, we were very sloppy, level of concentration just wasn't there, and we lost nearly every 50-50. So would be unfair to single anybody out for being poor. All i'll say is that Alonso will be right back into the side for the weekend.

Babel, excellent. Touch was spot on, was using his strength to shrug players off. So keep him in the team for a few now please Rafa.

Made up with that. That's the toughest game of the group stages, with the exception of Atleti away, and we've got a win. A win when they're flying as well.

Steve, Carra, Reina and Babel will get the plaudits, but Arbeloa was brilliant for the 3rd game in a row.

Gerrard was limping when he shook the hands of the opponents and teammates. Hope there's no problem.

The lads have really got to rest now. Most of them looked completely drained. Careless and sloppy.
