Out of all of them, i'd prefer:

"He's big, he's red,
He talks like father ted,
Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane"

ffs, The lad 's a boyhood red, for 28 years he has dreamed of running out to the Kop singing his name and now it has happened what does he get, fuckin father Ted.

Poor lad

Latest version, with the changes as requested by the consensus (apart from the last line, where, not matter how hard anyone tries, you can't make 6 syllables go into 5)

http://www.youtube.com/v/CgsVd4-wH_A&hl=en&fs=1

Our past number 7's have won us eighteen,
So Rafa said go forth and sign Robbie Keane,
We'd Aldo and Whelan in great sides before,
Now the Kop has a great Irish hero once more.

And it's Keane wearing seven *clap clap clap clap*
He creates and he scores.
Robbie take us to heaven,
Like Kenny before.

That line IS in it - but not in that place - that line is the second line in the chorus

1) Like King Kenny before fits, it's the wrong number of syllables but sing it right it fits.
2) If there's one line that doesn't fit it's and it's Keane wearing seven, but no one has complained about that.
3) Please stop bastardising my song, it's getting gayer by the minute (new first line is better though).
4) It's not going to get sung anyway. Let it be is simpler, and that's the key for player songs these days.
5) I can't think of one, but 5 is a better number of points to have.
Rest in Peace our 96 friends - Gone but never forgotten.

Well, you have to sing it wrong to make it fit...

but the first line IS better.

Let it be IS simpler. It's too simple. That's why it's shite and yours is far better.

Yours is still simple - it's only a few lines - but is a FAR better and more creative song.

What about a tweaked version of the old Dexys Midenight Runners song "geno"?

"O- Keane"
"Wo oo Keane"

Reminds me of our old school discos as well! Curley Whirley anyone?

Why not just rewrite the "Let It Be" tune, something like...

When our strikers found themselves in trouble
Brother Rafa came to me
Speaking words of wisdom... Robbie Keane!
And in our hour of darkness
He comes standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom... Robbie Keane!

Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane!
Robbie Keane, oh, Robbie Keane!
Liverpool's number seven
Robbie Keane!

And when the hopeful hearted Reds fans
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, Robbie Keane.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane!
Robbie Keane, oh, Robbie Keane!
Liverpool's number seven
Robbie Keane!

And when the club is struggling his goals
Are a light that shine on me,
Shine on 'til tomorrow, Robbie Keane.
I wake up to the sound of Sky Sports
Brother Rafa made a signing
Speaking words of wisdom: Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane!
Robbie Keane, oh, Robbie Keane!
Liverpool's number seven
Robbie Keane!

I don't normally do stuff like this, but this deal inspires me to try. ;D

Robbie Keane!

And when the hopeful hearted Reds fans
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, Robbie Keane.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane!
Robbie Keane, oh, Robbie Keane!
Liverpool's number seven
Robbie Keane!

And when the club is struggling his goals
Are a light that shine on me,
Shine on 'til tomorrow, Robbie Keane.
I wake up to the sound of Sky Sports
Brother Rafa made a signing
Speaking words of wisdom: Robbie Keane.

Robbie Keane, Robbie Keane!
Robbie Keane, oh, Robbie Keane!
Liverpool's number seven
Robbie Keane!

I don't normally do stuff like this, but this deal inspires me to try. ;D

I like your idea but songs with that many verses always struggle to catch on, maybe just one verse and the chorus?

Wild Rover is quality, probably won't catch on outside the pubs tho, at least not for a while.

Latest version, with the changes as requested by the consensus (apart from the last line, where, not matter how hard anyone tries, you can't make 6 syllables go into 5)
