Liverpool FC is pleased to launch a new membership scheme today with a whole host of exciting new benefits for supporters.

The new scheme, which replaces the Official Liverpool Supporters Club (OLSC), will give members greater access to match tickets through the Liverpool Ticket Exchange - a new service exclusively for members to buy seats from season ticket holders who are unable to attend games; a new members card and an exclusive membership pack containing lots of discounts and benefits.

Members will enjoy discounts on all retail purchases across the Club's four stores and online shop, Museum Tours, home reserve team matches and an exclusive Membership Pack.

The new scheme will offer more special offers exclusively to members during the season so there's never been a better time to join.

Throughout the season, one thing remains consistent - the loyalty, heart and support of Liverpool fans. The new membership is a place to share in the passion of Liverpool FC and as a member of the scheme you will receive all the new benefits for just £29 (adults) and £20 (juniors) - inc p&p.

Coming soon - opportunity to join the Season Ticket Waiting List: [A] [J]
As a member you are entitled to a position on the waiting list for season tickets at Liverpool Football Club. You will receive a season ticket waiting list certificate which will contain your unique waiting list reference number and regular updates as to your position on the list. There is no fee for the waiting list although you must be an up to date member and remain a member to maintain your position on the waiting list.

So what happens to the 'existing' waiting list ?
I clutch the wire fence until my fingers bleed,
A wound that will not heal, a heart that cannot feel.
Hoping that the horror will recede,
Hoping that tomorrow we'll all be freed.........JUSTICE.

Existing Fan Card holders will keep their existing card and number. In order to get the new card and enjoy the benefits, Fan Card holders are encouraged to join the membership scheme. The card number will be the same when they join the membership scheme.

I wonder if you will have to pay to join the Season Ticket waiting list.

I remember there was a question in that ticketing survey the club sent out asking if people would be willing to pay to be on the waiting list, with the fee being removed from their first season ticket.

EDIT:  Just realised it says there will be no fee.

I work with a Manc and they have a similar scheme for tickets.
Anyway,he likes it.He actually gave up his season ticket this year as its fairly handy to get tickets through their exchange.

It may not be as easy for us though as their is less seats to start with.
I am going to give it a try anyway.

With the season ticket waiting list thing though is says coming soon, so does that mean we'll pay £29 now, then the scheme will come into place next June, and you will have to pay £29 again for that year. Then you will have indeed spent £29 this year on crap!!!

Not sure what to do at all with this 'scheme'??

Edit: Just rang customer services the fan card runs for next season but they're not sure what will happen the season-after-next.

So it seems that the it's access to the ticket exchange is what you're getting on top of the pen, pencil and pecil case for £29!  :duh

I wouldn't think so. You are getting your new cards sent out when you send your old ones back, I'm just worried about whats going to happen to all those people (including me) who sent in a letter to go on the ST waiting list, will I be shoved right to the bottom of the list if I don't get this new thingy?!?!  :-\

It also says you have to be an up to date member, presumably you have to keep paying the £29 every year to stay on the waiting list. However, gotta assume that this scheme will replace the current fancards and be the only way of getting tickets every season, otherwise it's pretty pointless. No mention of that though so maybe they'll see what the uptake on this is in a couple of months and then let everyone know that you have to join it by next (09/10) season to get tickets

haha what a load of shite, their will be hardly any season ticket returned to the exchange, they will all be given to friends and family like mine and everyone of my mates have done for years.

£30 sov's for a pen, Gerrard DvD and the change to ring the ticket office and queue for hours on end every week with the slight chance of getting through.

I know - the whole point of a list, is the people on the top have been waiting the longest, not paid the most! At the moment it isn't a problem because hardly any Seasie's come up, so none of us are going to get one - but when the new stadium is built ...  :-\

Well the only ticketing benefit seems to be this access to a few ST seats and with the amount that take up this scheme, it will significantly out number the amount available anyway.

It just remains to be seen whether these new FC's get any priority over existing FC's when tickets go on sale. Hopefully not.

Mate, read it again, it says no fee but then says you have to remain a fully valid member to remain on the list, so you have to pay £29 per year to be on the seasie waiting list, as soon as you don't renew, they will jib you off the list.

They more or less have, check out this fancard page, http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/tickets/fancard.htm#2

It contains this sentence

Get access to more tickets with the new Liverpool FC official membership scheme. Tell me more

With this link to http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/membership/index.htm

So if you want a fancard you have to buy a membership which is £29.

Can they make us switch though?

What I want to know is what is the difference between this scheme and the fancard?

I mean, what do you gain if you pay more for this scheme?Isn't it not just basically the same thing with a few more bullshit goodies?

The ticket exchange thing is hard to work out as well. How many season ticket holders will put their tickets up for sale each game? And how many members are going to go for those tickets? Bloodbath. What stops the season ticket holder selling his game per game on the balc market for loads more that he'll get on the exchange?

Exactly, most ST holders give their ticket to their mate for games they cannot attend.

Looks like it but I have nowt concrete. It does say that unless you have a fully valid membership you will get jibbed off the list. I don't know whether they will give priority to members who have been on the list for years, though, or just start from scratch. I expect it will be the latter as having a new list will be an incentive for many people to buy one. The robbing gets.

I hope and don't think that will happen. After the Athens debacle regarding loyalty, I don't see Parry wiping off us that easily.

Of course, there's always been the rumour that they fucked up the list and this might be their way of starting afresh.....
