Fernando Torres just had a quick interview with SSN on his way back to the hotel after the days celebrations.

When asked if he had a message for Liverpool fans he thanked us for our support etc... then he was asked if he would win something with Liverpool next season?

His response...."WE WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE!"

Optimistic? certainly! but i fucking love the bloke!!!

I seriously don't think we could wish for a more passionate Liverpool player from overseas. He always seems to say the right thing, and more importantly does the right things.

Notice how both dealt with their own transfer links to Chelsea. One nipped it in the bud straight away. The other let the press run with it for months and months, unsettling the player and the club, and finally making him the butt of a number of songs from our rivals. If we would have been any good in marketing then we could make million after million on Torres. FT9 could be the biggest trademark in football.

Totally different. Torres has been here 1 year and hardly witnessed the real bad times on the pitch. Gerrard was with us 7 years when all that came about, and had witnessed so many bad times he didn't know where the club was heading.

Also just where would Torres get the passes from? Their partnership is just immense. Some people are just more dour than others. Leave Gerrard alone, we would be wallowing in the bottom half of the table without him.

Was waiting for someone to make that comment. Irony of it is class - turning a 'positive thread' into a 'negative discussion', by saying our Captain is generally negative. Regardless, I see where you're coming from and agree to an extent; However, whether Gerrard could act in a more positive manner is another topic all together.

As for Torres' comment's - great stuff. Especially from the Premiership's and the World's greatest striker.

were going OT now, but there are certain elements of Gerrard alot of people (including myself) dont like. He can come across as arrogant and i dont usually agree with Sweet Silver Song on much, but the whole Chelsea business was shameful. To piss about with Chelsea for one summer was bad enough but almost forgiveable. To do it a for a second summer is not.

Torres on the otherhand nipped talk of leaving in the bud, even though he was at the European Championships and should by all rights not have commented at all. That shows loyalty, and that goes along way in many people eyes including mine.

Even at his young age he is a role model in terms of his attitude.
