He played about 75 or 80 mins and was very good throughout. Played as one of two strikers. He was on the end of a great opportunity at about 65th minute that he should have put away, but the chance was largely created by his own brilliant first touch. I don't expect he'll be back at melwood anytime, but as much as I hope he goes well in the next few years, it would be a pity that Rafa never got to see the fruits of his patience with Harry.

After about 65 mins the Aussies just went defensive as they had the lead, I wouldn't say Iraq were the better team at all, they were allowed back into the game for the last 20 mins as Australia took their foot off the pedal, but still weren't good enough to get a goal.

Going to be an interesting return fixture next weekend in the Middle East. I wouldn't be surprised if Harry doesn't play over there.

Redknapp? I'm sorry but Jamie was miles above the others you mentioned. He, Robbie and Mcmanaman carried our team in a tough period in the 90's.

as a Red i don't like to say it but as an Aussie i know its true, we miss a player like Cahill when he is injured it shows how essential he is. Probably the same reason why Everton fell away so much when he was injured

We did offer him a contract in febuary just it had the proviso of a squad player writen all over it. If only he landed that header in a reds jersey it might have given rafa just that little extra faith...

People underestimate some of these Asian teams. I know I used to.

Many players actually playing for these middle-east teams are good enough to be playing in Europe. Just don't want to leave the coin/culture behind. Some individuals with some outrageous skills. Maybe lacking in temperament/mentality. But certainly not quality.

As for Kewell. I feel so conflicted. National team needs him fit (unlikely) and performing. But as a Liverpool fan first and foremost, he's a fucking greedy c*nt, who never gave anything
