Got the 3 numbers up on the english lotto last night and only got a tener. After checking the website i saw you only got a grand for 5 numbers. That's fucking rediculous.

I think i'll give this a go in the bookies.

Multiples on the Irish just work in the same way that they do with any other type of selection.

For instance, a £1 patent on 24-27-29 in the 6 number draw (no bonus) at William Hill:

7 bets (3 singles, 3 doubles, 1 treble) = £7.

£1 on 24 @ 6/1
£1 on 27 @ 6/1
£1 on 29 @ 6/1
£1 on 24-27 @ 53/1
£1 on 24-29 @ 53/1
£1 on 27-29 @ 53/1
£1 on 24-27-29 @ 600/1

So, if you only get 1 of your chosen numbers up, you break even. Any 2 or all 3, though, and you've made a decent amount of profit.

i only tend to bet on the footy m8, then it just tends to be trebles at most say do a patent can i still put just a pound on sorry for all the questions :-[

A patent consists of 7 bets as he has said. So A £1 stake on a patent would be £7 in total.

So if you still want to do a patent with total money bet being £1 then you'd have to set your stake as 14p, which would total 98p.

thanks for that, much more clear now as i say its our first week of doing it and i just noticed the extra slip with patent on it. its just me n two lads from work with 3 numbers each  so intotal 3 pound stake, is there any other type of bet on this we could do which will a not go over three pound stake, an increase are odds of winning thanks

Never done this before but have done today. If i pick 3 numbers and i get 2 plus the bonus does that not count ? i have to get 3 main balls ?

Depends whether you did the 6 or 7 number draw.

6 number draw doesn't include the bonus, so you'd need all 3 form the first 6.

7 number draw does include the bonus ball so any 3 of the 7 drawn.

If anyone's interested in past results out of interest, you can check every result of all three draws on the Irish lottery website going back to the year 2000.

Do you know what price you got? 7 numbers is roughly 300/1, 6 numbers 600/1. Depends where you go.

Hmm 3 numbers with Betfred is 610/1 but doesn't give you the option of 6 or 7 number draw...

And surely 7 numbers would be shorter than 6 numbers? As there's 1 more ball which could be your one, and therefore more of a chance.

Sorry yeah haha, it's been a long week.

Other way around.

And I've just been on the Betfred website, there's a checkbox asking if you'd like to include the bonus ball, that's what makes it a 7 number draw. Ticking that shows the odds with the bonus ball, 300/1.

From Ireland. Originally thought I'd be getting around that mark, but €16. A lad I went to college won the lotto here a few weeks back. Total waster but best of luck to him

Not sure how much, only heard about it today and haven't been in touch with him in a few years, I'd hate to try get in touch now, mega leech style.

Was just a €4 quick pick, 3 + bonus = €16
About a month ago I had 3+bonus on both lines of a €4 quickpick = €31

Got 2 numbers up out've 3 (1,3,14) on last nights Irish lotto. Luckily i did the trixie (3 x doubles and the treble) and got £52. Have the same numbers for wednesdays draw. From what i gather in the earlier posts i can't pick the winnings up until after the Weds draw, as they're both on the same dockett, is that right?

My ma informed me she plays this on the english lotto and it pays 450/1. Still better than some of the city centre bookies that pay less than 400/1. I checked it out in Ladbrokes and different branches have different odds.

similar to this but if you put a quid or 2 on a lottery number(like the english lottery). it comes up, you put the winnings on and keep going this can make a similar amount after 3 or 4 lotteries.

doing some reading on paddypower at the minute. max payout on lotteries(only uk/ireland) is 500 000 Euros = 441 474.654 British pounds
