Always a badly named condition this - my missis had it some 15 years back and to my knowledge, she's never held a tennis racket in all the years we've been married (46).
She was given cortisone injections directly into her elbow joint by our GP and delighted to say it worked!

In reality spinal cortisone injections are the realistic immediate cure for the sciatica.
Had six in the spine last year and it worked.
They put the jab into the point that sparks the pain you are feeling and the inject.
It's relatively painless and does work.
I think you will need a scan first to locate the discs that are impinging on the nerve

Now here's something which I KNOW Leo will love - Boris Johnson's comments on GB's first Gold medal.

he issued this Official statement as LM of London:

"Helen Glover and Heather Stanning's historic triumph will be celebrated throughout the country. It is an outstanding achievement and I am sure it will spur on all our athletes in the medal stakes. It is fantastic - go Team GB."

Behave yourself Boris - and protect YOUR own nation's culture FFS.

If anyone's got to go, please let it be YOU Boris you fucking tit.

Fucken walking nightmare. Got a blister off a new pair of trainees, little tiny thing on my little toe. Anyway put a plaster on it, changed it a couple of times. Got off the plane yesterday the whole foot has blown up, toe in a mess infected. Got to be dead careful with my feet anyway with this diabetic shite, but have it strapped up now and on ani-biotics. Got told, if the red-ness goes past the strapping, go immediately to A&E, just have you shitting yerself.

Tennis elbow - get one of those protector things made of neoprene and Velcro - wear it day and night, while applying that gel analgesic stuff four times a day: pain goes away after a while and will return for no reason at some point as well.

I get it on my left side. It started in my left hip and at first I though my hip was done for it was so sore. I was out darting one night and limping and someone asked what was up. I told him my hip was knackered. He asked a few questions then said I bet you got sciatica. I hadnt heard of it so went home and googled it, I found a page with a long list of symptoms and I had about 75% of them!

Now when I get it it gets worse each time. Cold and damp weather can start it off so I dread winter coming. The pain now goes right down my left leg to my ankle as well as my hip. I found stretching can help but be careful cos I stretched my leg so much to ease the pain that felt like it was in the muscle at the back of my shin I actually pulled that muscle. The pain feels like its the muscle in your leg but of course its not its the sciatic nerve thats hurting. Stretching out your back muscles can help but for me it only works for a short time. I know how you feel mate you cant stand up, you cant sit down, you stretch and it fells better for a minute or two then its back again. Last time I got it I had sat on a bench for about 10 mins in the sun. When I went to get up I felt it start. It took six weeks to go that time. I tried every pain killing tablet I could get my hands on and none really worked. I take diclophenac tablets now regularly and they seem to help but my doc says I shouldnt take them long term but can only suggest paracetemol instead as being less dangerous. I work part time in a store and spend 5 hours on my feet after 3 hours my back is sore and I cant bend down without pain, getting up again if I do is hard work! Its really shit getting old I hate it!

Used to wear discreet black trainers for work (I work in a DIY store I cant say which but its the one where you have to dress up like a traffic cone, you will know the one) until they decided that trainers were banned and I was told to buy some black shoes. Why dont you provide me with boots to go with rest of the uniform I asked, no you dont qualify in your section he said. Then they got rid of a load of staff and didnt replace them. Revenge was sweet last week when same manager asked me to help out the lad on timber as he was on his own. Sorry I said, no can do. Are you refusing a reasonable request he asked. Nope says I. I dont have any safety boots remember.  :)

Fair enough, but...
Know what you are going through have had it for over 30 years
I'd put an end to it right now, if I thought I had that amount time with it ahead. Fuck that. It's been just over 2 months and it's starting to drive me crackers. So, to change the moan for another one...

There's some lovely land by me. I take the kids there all the time. We have to cut through a little woods. The residents round here had a whip round and made a lovely little park in there for the kids, some boss swings and that. Across the road is a huge feild. The rugby club's there. There's rugby and footy pitches. There's a great BMX track for the kids. There's a river. People go boating on it. Me and the kids catch tiddlers in it. We feed the ducks and the swans. There was a mother duck with nine babies swimming in it. They even came out right by us and waddled past. It's great there. Me dog thinks he's an otter, can't get him out the water. The train runs through it and on the other side is another big piece of land, but it's left wild and it's a great place to take the kids on adventure walks. Yeah. I'm a big daft lump. I still try to climb trees and pretend to be a pirate and all that malarkey, when the kids aren't there. Except for me grandson throwing the ball in the river, sticking he's hand down he's kecks, shitting in he's hand and lashing it, (true) we had a great time there today. It reminds me off sugar butties and bottles of water and endless walks when I was little. I honestly love taking the kids down there. There was workmen and machinery there today. The bastards are sticking a Tescos in down there. I hate them bastards and the even worse bastards that take their money and let them do whatever they want.

I know it's another rant. I'd rather have a laugh, but that really has done me head in. There'll be nothing left soon.

There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with the utmost skill, courage, fair play and no favour, and the result accepted without bitterness or conceit. FS Redrow are doing it here. A couple of acres of Farm fields are being prepared for housing.
Walk the dog on those fields and the wild life they contain is amazing. Being totally destroyed now!
Remember summer holidays when we was kids... sugar or sauce butties, lemo bottles full of water, off to conquer the wilds, well, Spinney Woods or somewhere. Some of the happiest times of me life. I love doing it with the kids now. We get the dog, the butties, the lemo and we're off. I'm honestly happier down that river with the kids and dog than I am anywhere else nowadays. It'll be a car park soon, and there's not even any customers that near by. So, I'm sure Tesco will be doing it's best to move some in. I'll give it 5 years, there won't be a blade of grass down there.

I watched the Olympics for the first time last night. I really enjoyed it. I only seen the highlights of the footy. I was impressed with what I seen. It looked like Pierce had them playing proper footy on the deck, which was a bit of a surprise. But if the legacy of paying out all this money is supposed to be more kids getting involved in footy, shouldn't we leave them some pitches to play on?

I know I'm moaning a lot lately. I used to do fuck all but laugh, but you can't play the clown forever when the whole fucking shebang is falling to bits. I'm honestly starting to think this Cameron fella is worse than Maggie Thatcher. At least she loved her own kids. This twat leaves his own kid in the alehouse, fucks off home without even missing the baby, then starts blaming the woes of the world on drunken families living on some forgotten estate. Couldn't make it up if you tried.

Its not only the politicians who are cocking it up the kids dont want to help themselves, i told the missus this morning i was taking the router to work with me , her 2 havent moved out the house since summer holidays started, far more concerned about xbox and youtube to be bothered with the outside world, we bought a dog for the youngest about 5 months ago, not sure she even knows the dogs name, we have miles and miles of forestry around us , parks, playing fields, carp lakes, bmx and skateboarding parks, other than tourists wanting a day in the country they are empty, on the other hand go in the centre of town and they are all sat there faces like slapped arses, " we aint got nuffin to do ", my summer holidays some 35 years ago consisted of sleeping for 5 hours and the rest out in the fresh air with all me mates doing what we knew we wouldnt be able to do in 6 weeks because school was back on, well lets see how her 2 get on today, the router is sat in the car, when they eventually wake up they will think their worlds have ended
i can tip em but cant back em

You might just do 'em a huge favour there mate - and force them to discover the real world - before that real world jumps up in the not too distant and severely bites their arses.

I don't give them time mate. Smacked arse faces or not, they're bundled up and we're out. Me grandaughter goes swimming at least twice a week. I'm going to get the mad fella enrolled in footy soon as I can. I'll be one of them grandads that cleans his boots, gets his kit ready and takes him to all his games. If he doesn't like footy, I'll swap him for Andy Carroll.

To be fair to the 15 yr old lad he plays footie and has got a big circle of friends from footie, but once footie is over they all go back to their respective bedrooms hook up online and shout the house down, i bribe him now and again with the threat of never taking him to Anfield again which brings him inline for a week or so, the main trouble is io am the grumpy stepdad and i do get that thrown back in my face from time to time , thats when me and the dog go fishing, been every night this week  ;)
