Just went totally ballistic with the poster at the top of this page, thinks the same rules and respect applies to Hodgson and Kenny, going to give the main board a swerve tonight now, god knows where people get the nerve to make posts like that one.

Might end up banned if I keep reading stuff like that.

Geoff, I've just spent hours composing a reply to the post you highlighted (on my phone do took bloody ages ), only to see you got there first and did a damn sight better than me.

Not impressed mate!!! :-(

Great post Geoff, well said.  Jeez, I despair sometimes about some of our so called supporters, don't know why they bother if we are so crap!!

Is a good post (aprt from the commas  ;)).

Notice that few of these newbies have only moaning as part of their posts.

Not one has introduced themself or said 'owt but how shocking/lethargic/rubbish a player is or disparages Dalglish.
Was a trifle sad. Only managed a three page thread to wish Dalglish Happy Birthday.
Says it all.

Let me say that I've found supporters from other clubs to be more in agreement with the sentiments expressed in this thread.
Except for that Johnnno.  ;)
I jest. He's one soul that holds high standards of the old school type.

Roy dont know if you are aware of this but we played Fife Flyers Ice Hockey team tonight in Nottingham and tragically the Coach of Fife lost his wife last week died in childbirth and the twins she was expecting, sort of puts today into perspective!

We raised £4000 tonight in a bucket collection for their other 3 year old daughter!

So, so tragic. RIP.

Brother went to the vigil in Kirkcaldy, was very emotional. That was pure class raising that money mate, Ice Hockey fans are good as gold.

The first time I was told it I simply couldn't stop laughing for ages. I just kept picturing the cat's claws hooked onto his meat and two veg...... ;D

There was another "late" excuse logged in that ICI Blackley book that I've just remembered - nowhere near as funny mind you - but again was tried on and I think this one failed as it deserved to fail to be honest.

One of the plant operators lived almost on the doorstep of the works. Literally one or two streets away from the main gate his front door was.
This particular morning shift, there was an old style (1950's) Manchester pea-souper (fog as thick as the Ship Canal) and you seemingly could not see your hand in front of your face. I remember these very well - they were scary.
The guy arrived 30 minutes late for his 0600 start and wrote this in the late book:-

" Because I couldn't see a thing in the fog, I had to feel my way to the works railings (fence) so that I could then follow the railings to the main gate. When I reached the railings, in the confusion due to the fog, I then must have turned in the wrong direction and headed off in the wrong direction - in what was in fact the long way round.. (The site was big and the "long way round" could have put 20 minutes on the walk to work.) That was why it was 06.30 when I got into site."

I heard the story and exclaimed "What a load of absolute Bollux!"
He must have been on the piss the night before and had a teeny likkle lie in - before writing that teeny likkle lie in the book..... ::) ::) ::)

Anyone watch the kids this avvy? Great performance against a strong (if that's not a contradiction in terms) Everton team.

Adorjan, Suso & Sterling all really impressive though. They double bubbled Sterling with two sppedsters, one with plenty of Prem league experience at full back & couldn't get near him.

Defence looked solid enough & Coady covering everything in front of them.

Think it made a difference having an experienced goallie in the team, great signing by Roy there, but I've seen quite a lot of them but that was by far the most i mpressive I've seen them.

Think any one of Suso, Adorjan or Sterling could easily be blooded. It'd be Adorjan I'd like to see link up with Suarez but, to be honest, I've usually got these wrong, even thought that Lee Jones was ahead of Fowler!

first time for glasses, maybe we need an ancient arses thread. I have to wear the arse end of 2 coke bottles, welded in a bike frame, just to see the computer, never mind what's on it. As for the skywashed kids, by the time they take over completely, I can't see us being any different than Chelsea, sacking managers every time we get beat. But I think Rafa's got to much sense to leave himself open to that and I don't think the Russkie fella has the sense to see beyond the character assination that the media done on the man. Also the Chelsea fans hate Rafa. I'm glad of that. I'd hate to see him managing them, but I think his name has been blackened beyond ever getting another job in this country.
As for Kenny and our current owners, I can't see them losing patientce for at least another couple of seasons, and by then Kenny should have us well on track. There's not really much wrong, but I think FSG will have to stump up to replace some aging players soon. It was funny the other night. I said, Gerrard was the best player I'd ever seen in our shirt, but I also said he was finished as a top-top midfielder that could keep bossing games and pulling us out the shit. I stand by that. The lad's 32. We over played him from day one, much like we did with Owen, in our panic to catch up Johno's mob. It's taking it's toll now. Watch the lads legs. He's lost an awful lot of that spring and power that made him the freak player he was. But how dare I suggest such a thing. It's funny really, kids attaking me for stating the obvious. Sadly, time is catching some of them, Carra, Gerrard, Bellamy, Kuyt. That's not to say they're completely finished. They can all provide some service, but the writing's on the wall and I reckon that's going to be Kenny's biggest problem. I remember me first heroes going over the hill, Tommo, Hunt, Rowdy, St. John, etc. Shankly admitted he didn't act fast enough and it put us back years. I can't see Kenny making the same mistake. I just hope the idiots, don't sway FSG's judgement in any way. I really still can't believe how they done for Rafa. If it happened again, I think that would be it for me. I just couldn't bear our club becoming like Chelsea.

Never seen the kids today. Don't have LFCtv over here in me Ma's but always watch them at home. We've got some good young lads. I'm hoping some of them can make the big step up in the next couple of seasons. That would be a big help to Kenny.

It was as well as I've seen them play this season, interesting that it should come against such an experienced side. They've seemed to me to have been struggling for a bit of the fluency that the U18s amongst them had last year but it looked to have come back today. Maybe they just needed the challenge? It'll be interesting to see how the Nextgen match goes next week, obviously with a couple of changes from today's lineup.

I used to take my son to watch the reserves when they played their matches in Warrington, I thought Pacheco & Nemeth were nailed on to succeed out of that bunch - you never can tell.

Think it might have had something to do with playing on a decent pitch in a stadium too. Windy Arbour never even suited my pass and move game so nothing down for this crowd up there!

See I think there will always be scar tissue from Rafa, because most of us never experience that kinda shit from our own fans. Some people want Rafa back at some point just to get it right finally, in the same vain we want Kenny to have success because of the terrible way he had to left last time.
It's important that we stand behind Kenny, even if results aren't great. That doesn't mean of course we shouldn't chat shite about his idea's or actions, just we take all that as opinion while he does the hard job of doing.

It's important that we stand behind Kenny, even if results aren't great. That doesn't mean of course we shouldn't chat shite about his idea's or actions, just we take all that as opinion while he does the hard job of doing.

Sadly, that is true.

No matter how old they get you always want your kids to do well.

My youngest son is a journalist and he applied for the job recently working on the editorial team on the LFC website. He has got a degree in English Language and Lingusistics, passed his full journalist qualifications at the fist attempt and has just on 6 years experience working for a large regional newspaper. He is a passionate red and goes the game and ticked every single box on the job advert but... he didnt even get an interview. Fair enough I tried to tell him, they must have got a lot of talented people applying.

Then he told me tonight that Brian Reade's son got the job who apparently is only just out of training. I'm wondering just which part of having your dad as a sports journalist for a national newspaper went in his favour?

Anyway.... good luck to the lad.

I used to take my son to watch the reserves when they played their matches in Warrington, I thought Pacheco & Nemeth were nailed on to succeed out of that bunch - you never can tell.
That's the problem, right there. I agree, and I thought both were going to great for us. But then even with established players, it's never guaranteed, Adam, Carroll. That's what these idiots don't seem to understand. I see Henderson getting slatted all the time, but I think the lad is going to mature into a cracking player. I think Carroll still can an all. With Charlie, it's obvious the lad was brought in as a squad player and has only had so many games because of all the injuries. The way some of them carry on, it's like Kenny brought him to build the team round him and broke the bank to do it. I've seen this need to scapegoat players increasing every season for about 5 years or so now. It's all becoming a bit shite in my opinion.

Especially when BR used to go on every week about him being a toffee, amazingly became a red after Istanbul.

Think is though nearly all appointments at football clubs are based on 'who you know', from the manager right down to the Saturday job in the shop.

It's not who you know, John, it's not even what you know, it's what you know about who you know  ;)

FS - I've got to agree with all of that. There's no certainties in football and that seems to be too much for some to grasp. I used to love Paul Walsh as a player, some of my mates that I went to the match with weren't so keen, it wasn't as if there was anyone decent in his way at the time was there  ;). Then as he was having his best season he gets that injury and it was pretty much the end of him at Liverpool. I'm not sure where I'm going with this but people seem to fear change and yet react in a knee-jerk manner. The long and the short of it is you can't control everything and we can't all get our own way all of the time.

Think that might have had more to do with a night out in the Cokey but point is there's no guarantees, even with the very brightest prospects................There's always a Wayne Harrison.

One of the strangest saddest episodes of any players career. Was if Paisley or Fagan that signed him without seeing him saying when you hear reports as good as his you dont have to see him? Then in an instant the lads career is over. I went to his testimonial at Oldham and I think after that he tried to make a come-back. Sad for the lad really but as you say there's always a story like it.

The samje people slagging Kenny for Carroll, and co... probably the exact same people who slatted Rafa for the likes of Lucas and Arbie. If all the new signings come good, they won't learn a lesson. They'll just move onto the next scapegoat. I suppose I have a nerve even commenting, as I haven't been to a game since Rafa was sacked and Hodgson was brought in. But that's the sort of thing that had ruined it for me. Not moaning. I've always been used to that from sections of our support, but when they took to blatantly booing our own and worse, that was it for me. And it wasn't just kids at it. I seen middle aged fellas who should have known better screaming abuse at Rafa and the players. It knocked something out of me. I couldn't bear being round it and near got meself into a few scrapes. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for the fisty cuffs at the match malarkey.

Nice one John. I wanted to name that lad and couldn't remember his moniker.

Fair enough, I bow to your superior knowledge! I'll just keep my fingers crossed for our youngsters and hope there aren't too many nights out waiting to trip them up.
Don't know if it's age but I don't remember Wayne Harrison  :-\

Was at that game too. Tell you a wierd one was Beglin's testimonial being at Leeds, I know he played a few times for them but given he did his injury in a high profile derby playing for us, that's a bit of a wierd one.
