Strictly Baby Fight Club
« on: April 24, 2008, 09:09:19 PM »
Channel 4 right now.

Anyone watching it?

It's sick, 5 year old kids being encouraged to fight by some big steroid-filled dad from Wigan. The girl was crying when they were telling her to go into the ring. Awful.
You sure you want to do this?

I hope you like the taste of bleu cheese.

The person who made the decision to tag "strictly" on the beginning needs punching.

What the fuck does that even mean?
Johnny Sack: 200 grand for insulting my wife. What's next, Carmine, he gets to fuck her for a million?

Carmine: He wants to fuck her?

Johnny Sack: I'm making a point.

Alot of stuff like this on the TV nowadays..I don't really see the need for it..lock the bastards up, take the kids off and give them to someone who'll bring them up properly..don't give the horrible twats the satisfaction of thinking they've been on TV.

I have no problem at all with the young boys fighting, but them young girls? Fuck me, that was hard watching 6/7 year old girls having to fight.

Did you hear her fat fuck dad. "She's going through a faze of wanting to be a girly girl"

How dare she play with dolls and make up, instead of being forced to fight?

What, as in being forced to fight? Do you not find it a tiny bit abusive and exploitative?

To be honest I think that connor lad wanted to do it, but that asian lad looked scared and I think the Dad was forcing him due to his own failures

Should be a minimum age for competitive fights

It was sick! I couldn't believe the parents were encouraging it. I felt sorry for the girl crying when she was at the ring and the dad saying shes just going through a girly faze, like fighting is what shes really suppose to be doing!! That connor boy annoyed me thinking he was all hard, I bet when he grows up he's gonna be right violent and abusive. :-\ The Asian boy, I think the dad was just making him do it because of his own failures and the other boy from Wigan I felt extremely sorry for him, he literally had no time for himself. He was saying how he'd love a day off and do other things but his parents said he needs to train. His mum was evil said she actually enjoyed bashing another womans nose in, in one of her previous fights, and I can't believe they made him fight when he was just two and a half years old! Parents like that make me feel disgusted.
I was just talking about it with my cousin and he argued that it's a sport, if its ok to put your child forward for football training etc at the age of 4-5 then why not thai boxing and he thinks there's nothing wrong with it, but there is so so much wrong with it! A child's body is weak and I know they're only fighting children and have the protective gear on but how easy is it to kick/punch in the face?! and that could seriously hurt a child and damage them. How can anyone in their right mind say that pushing two children in a fighting ring at the tender age of 5 and telling them to kick and punch the other child call this a sport? If they wish to do this when they are older then so be it, but 5year olds should be enjoying their childhood!!

http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/cutting_edge/strictly_baby_fightclub/index.html

Read about this in the paper the other day. One of the fathers saying how he has his two children (4 and 5 i believe) weight training with him dailly. As well as how he adapts their diet in the build up to a fight, such as if one ofthem is up against a bigger child then he will up the carbs for them so they can 'bulk up'.

Weight training for a child that age is just downright irresponsible.

Shocking. Especially as many of these children so obviously did not want to do it.

This has really annoyed me. I just remembered how Connor's mum had to sign that consent form (which disclaimed any responsibility for her sons' death, should he die as a result of injuries sustained during the fight) and she just shrugged her shoulders saying "yeah, that's pretty standard stuff". Appalling! Can't believe how foulmouthed and aggressive those parents were, swearing into their children's faces! Absolutely disgusting.  >:(

I could go on and on but I think I'll just get annoyed even more! :-\

Unfortunately I missed most of this and only caught the end, when Connar beat a couple of lads.  It sounds like the other kids must have been alot different to Connar, because he seemed to enjoy it?  I dont see the problem with parents introducing their children to sports like these, aslong as they dont go beyond encouraging them and start to force them.  Which it sounds like these parents did.

Do you not think that having toddlers and children as young as 4 and 5 in any kind of combat sport is a bit much and potentially dangerous?

Personally i do. I think there should be an age restriction on sports like this.
