Hicks clan behaviour on Saturday - what have we sunk to?
« on: March 13, 2008, 12:40:24 PM »
Mods - not sure which Thread to put this in, so feel free to move it to somewhere more suitable but I heard some gossip out in Milan from 2 very highly placed figures at Liverpool which is worth passing on (and I sense why I was told it:) ).

Apparently at the Newcastle match on Saturday one of Tom Hicks sons was present with 10 to 15 mates, most of whom had never been to a football match before.  After the match they "enjoyed" the hospitality on offer rather liberally with the result that:

1. At least one of his friends was sick on the boardroom floor.

2.  Another one passed out totally and medical attention had to be called to revive him and ascertain that he was ok.

3.  Most of the group were very rude and insulting to the waitresses, laughing at their accents, mimicing them to their faces, making a series of lewd and personal remarks, and calling them "peasants".  (Although to be fair a couple of the group were very embarrassed by the majority and apologised for their behaviour saying they were overaged college boys who had never grown up).

When Moores found out about this he was absolutely livid (not surprising when you think his family had run the boardroom for over 30 years).  He tried to contact Hicks Senior to complain but was unable to get through and his calls were not returned.  Moores was still livid on Tuesday and was going on about the incident constantly.

Meanwhile, Ian Ayres, officially our "Marketing Director" but effectivley Hick's day to day representative at Anfield (and an utter c*nt according to pretty much everyone who knows him) was also out in Milan, and enjoying a few drinks on Monday night.  Possibly under the influence he was heard by many people loudly bad-mouthing Moores AND Parry, calling them all sorts of names and declaring that they are nobodies who will soon be out of the door.

Sad times indeed.

Personally, I need a better source than a couple fellas in Milan. But if it is true then that is depressing.

I am pretty sure if this was true there would have been more said about it. Are we sinking so low as to believing everything we are told, too? Girl I work with is a steward and her uncle is also a steward (one who has been there for years) and she said she heard nothing. I am pretty sure if this happened it would have got around.

Quite. It's not as if it reveals some hithero unknown character traits is it. We already know what the Hicks clan is all about, father, sons and hangers-on, scum the lot of them.

As for it not being all over the place, wouldn't surprise me if attempts were made to hush it up, wads of cash waved, stewards jobs at stake, etc.

I thought that too, but who knows could be angling for a new job under the new regime ;)

Seriously he does have a very significant track record in Asia, an area that is light in DIC's experience.

this kind of thing doesn't surprise me. I can imagine exactly what the "Hicks clan" are like - spoiled, public school yank c*nts who haven't got a clue about anything other than daddy's yaught and having a jolly good time.

i've worked in boxes before, and the people who frequent them are all the same. In fact, the last time I worked in a box, at Twickenham stadium, there were a group of around 5 15 year old lads who spent the entire afternoon drinking cider and enjoying the rugby "banter."

The afternoon ended with one of them being sick from the side of the box into the stand below(luckily the peasants had gone home by this point) and another being unable to stand up. This almost cost me my job, as apparently I should have been "supervising" their alcohol consumption. Hicks and his mates are probably no more mature than the kids I experienced. c*nts the lot of em, absolutely takes the piss out of the lads who put all their money into the team. Just wish they'd turned up in Milan.

Possibly under the influence he was heard by many people loudly bad-mouthing Hicks [edited: sorry of course i meant to write "Moores" here] AND Parry, calling them all sorts of names and declaring that they are nobodies who will soon be out of the door.

Sad times indeed.

1. is childishly pathetic but excusable I suppose.
2. is even more sad and pathetic, not to mention irresponsible given it required an EMT call.

When Moores found out about this he was absolutely livid (not surprising when you think his family had run the boardroom for over 30 years).  He tried to contact Hicks Senior to complain but was unable to get through and his calls were not returned.  Moores was still livid on Tuesday and was going on about the incident constantly.
