Oh nose. The thread is now 200+ pages. Why is that?

It's about the size of the traffic that will occur for the game and stuff.

The mods have the ability to change the forum to meet the size of the people who will come.

Have a great day all and lets hope we finish what we started back in 1965!

:)

Lifted from .tv....this Dylan Bowman character does appear to do work for ArabianBusiness.com but don't see source on pice anywhere...

Dic Talks With Hick Still Going Ahead

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

by Dylan Bowman and agencies on Tuesday, 11 March 2008
TALKS CONTINUE: Dubai will hold negotiations with Liverpool's co-owners over the coming days, sources said. (Getty Images)Dubai will continue talks with Liverpool FC co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks despite Hicks' announcement he had terminated negotiations, a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.

The source said negotiations between state-owned Dubai International Capital (DIC) and the Americans would continue on Tuesday and over the next few days in Dubai.

Hicks said in a statement Monday night that discussions had led him to decide "to terminate any further discussions with DIC regarding their possible purchase of a minority stake" in Liverpool.

Under the terms of the accord under which the Americans acquired Liverpool, Gillett is unable to sell without the agreement of Hicks.

The disagreement revolves around Hicks wanting to remain in control of Liverpool and DIC also wanting a hand in the day-to-day running of the club.

Hick's announcement came just hours after DIC confirmed it was in "advanced discussions" with the co-owners, but stressed that no agreement had been finalised following media reports a deal had been struck.

The UK's Daily Telegraph reported on Sunday that Gillett had agreed to sell 49% of the football club for an estimated 170 million pounds ($342.9 million), quoting the lead negotiator on the deal.

Under the deal cited by the newspaper, Gillett will sell 1% of his 50% stake to Hicks, giving him a majority holding of 51%, and the remaining to DIC.

Hicks and Gillett last Wednesday rejected an $800 million bid from DIC for the whole club, which would have included paying off the refinancing package the Americans agreed in January for the loan used to purchase the club.

The rejection came after DIC Chief Executive Sameer Al-Ansari said it was in talks to buy the club, but that the owners were in “dreamland” over the club's valuations.

Hicks and Gillett outbid DIC when they bought the club last year, but have fallen out with each other this season.

The pair have proved extremely unpopular with Liverpool fans, many of whom were enraged when the latter revealed late last year that they had discussed replacing manager Rafael Benitez with Jurgen Klinsmann.

Hicks has since given Benitez his unequivocal backing but that has not quelled discontent among supporters, many of whom are involved in a project aimed at buying the club back and running it as a kind of cooperative on the model of Barcelona, where the club president is directly elected by fans.

Hello,

this is my first post here i've been reading the forums for a while and really appreciate most of the things you have to say on currents matters. i emailed Hicks last night and got a prompt response of this....

You are very wrong…I have guaranteed the original loan and made significant investments and have guaranteed a big part of the current loan. I have taken huge risks…..because I believe our Club can be the best in the world…again. Gillett knew Klinsmann from Vail. In hindsight, it was a big mistake, but I have publicly, and privately, backed Rafa since our meeting December 16th.  The finances will be fine. We are playing much better. DIC has been playing the press like a drum. Our new stadium will be the best in the world.

YNWA

Tom Hicks

the last few sentences in his reply look like they have been copied and pasted from maybe a template.

anyways thankyou for all your good work you have made this thread a realy good read, albeit a little frustrating.

YNWA

i really hate it when "hicks" signs with YNWA.

lots of these lines have appeared in other emails before. plus the whole text is very badly written - theres no real connection between the different sentences. it looks like hes got a database full of "good" things he did/ will do, and randomly copies them together for these email replies. you'd never get a good grade for something like that in school...can't he get better PR staff...or maybe its really him, would fit.

Hang on a second ...

Two things ....

First, Hicks' statement:

"Hicks said in a statement Monday night that discussions had led him to decide "to terminate any further discussions with DIC regarding their possible purchase of a minority stake" in Liverpool."

And now Dubai's statement that talks are ongoing ...

Talks are obviously ongoing about a 100% deal for Dubai, not the minority stake as specified by Hicks.

... or talks are ongoing for a majority stake ... but read Hicks' statement again and it doesn't say all talks are off.  That, combined with Dubai's latest statement that talks are ongoing suggests something else is afoot.

In hope as much as anything else ...

That would be Anand Krishnan who is the senior executive replacing the ousted chief exec Rabih Khoury from DIC's marketing division. We are told this is just for an interim period.

Pleased that talks are continuing then.

Not as easy as it seems.

And what should I prioritize? Mouse with right and and my wang with the left? Or the other way around perhaps?

I've come to the conclusion that if I have the mouse in my right hand, cuddling my pole with the left I tend to wiggle it in more of a right-left movement that up-down.

I just read this on YNWA, but I don't have any source. It does make interesting reading though, if true.
____________________________________________________________________

Hicks and Gillet are now facing a 'margin call' on one or two of their loans. Why? Would it surprise you that the suppliers of the finance are not entirely happy with their conduct? And the debt was raised on the basis that they'd have found an exit by now. They'll have to find, 60mil to 'heal the wounds'
My suspicion is that DIC will/have put some pressure on one of Hicks debt suppliers to squeeze him

(something received from a bloke who seems to have known the track all along)
