Hicks is a businessman, if he gets the right offer then he'll sell, he plainly has no emotional ties to the club so the only thing that concerns him is money. Gillett has presumably already decided to sell so it's just a question of agreeing the price between DIC and Hicks. I think there's a lot more mileage in this yet unfortunately which means more uncertainty on and off the pitch. I just hope that DIC improve their offer.

I don't think it'll be over even if it doesn't go through today. Afterall, this whole thing is reliant on leatherface getting the cash to buy out Goblin. If he can't then surely DIC will realise that they're in the perfect position to fuck him over?

Agree slightly. But if you make a "final" offer and it's rejected, to come back for more makes you look weak.

I'm not sure that DIC has said final offer, i think it is more likely media reports which have spun it to a final offer. The reports I've read on SSN and BBC would suggest DIC has been in negotiations for some time, and now made an offer with a deadline for responding.

so, is this a joint press release?

neither of them have issued a press release... it's all hearsay from AP

"Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have rejected DIC’s £400 million takeover bid for the Premier League club, according to a report by the Associated Press."

Can't help but feel that's them preparing us for the news that a deal isn't going to happen.
Disagree, I think they are just publicly stating that the current owners are asking too much.  I think they are definitely interested in buying just as Gillet is definitely interested in selling.  The only question is the price.

SSN and BBC don`t have a great record recently when reporting about Liverpool FC.

I`m still scyptical until I read this in the Echo or on the official site.

Thats what I cannot understand mate, DIC are the only company that has interest in us, I cant see another billionair coming in, in the future and there is no way DIC will be back again if they walk away now.

This isnt over yet.

I agree. If they can't buy the club now they are not coming back with offer for a third time. Now or never.
