went to The Elephant in WooltonVillage on new years day with some mates and two 1 year old babies. Nice place, good food and decent kids food - altho probably a bit too good for a 1 year olds palette.

Only had a sandwich - but served on really thick bread with chips  & coleslaw  - other meals chicken caesar salad, fish cakes and steak sanwich. Sunday lunch sounds good value.

Mowgli is excellent, there is a dish which is the end of a crusty loaf with the middle cut out and lamb curry in its place. So nice.

£29 for 6 dishes and two drinks, well worth a visit.

Went the Botan the other week had never heard of it before, it was OK a nice clean Kebab I thought, not greasy at all with a decent homemade warm chilli sauce on top of which there wasnt enough.....

i tried Friends on Saturday on Smithdown well better than Botan IMO, got a mix kebab with Chicken, Lamb n Donner meat was all fat free and tasty, again no grease the difference is the kebabs are made on a special crispy naan with loads of chilli, garlic and fresh coriander infused in the bread(for only an extra 50p!) they have loads of lovely fresh salad and a good hot chilli sauce, this will be my only point of call for a kebab from now on, always went the nile before but thats shite now, dogfood, gone right down the swanny so wont be going back.

Ony problem with Friends is they dont deliver but dont let that put you off...

I can't decide which is best, I've decided that I am going to have to keep sampling each every couple of weeks to try and work it out.  It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it

Considering I live about 5 minutes walk from it I'm almost ashamed to say I haven't been to Little Italy yet, but I will get there asap. I'm a big fan of NJ so it would have to really impress me to top that but it sounds great.

Nothing's worth a ride on the 60! Full of nutters.

But yes they're both fantastic places, definitely worth the effort.

Little Italy is the same people, and it's a similar small plates type deal but it's Italian rather than Spanish.  Unlike Neon you can book too.
