Cant believe the classy Everton fans booed at the whistle. 0-0 thought we had enough chances to win it.

Looks to me like the Reserves need a striker as much as the first team does. Eccleston is a good player, but what is his best position?

Did it finish goalless lads?

Yeah, somehow.

It's hard to anything that hasn't already been said really. Suso, Sterling and Adorjan were brilliant, Coady and Roberts were very good at their jobs as were the entire back five and Nathan Ecclestone.

Should've won about 0-5 but it doesn't matter, the performance was fantastic. Really, really good.

Good performance that, against a strong on paper blue nose team...totally bossed the game, Suso and Ecceleston looked like they've found their old form again..

Sterling and Adorjan the stand out players for me...Wisdom and Sama very solid in the centre...

Good result considering Everton's team.

For the first team maybe, not for the reserves. Was a very, very good performance and that's all that matters.

I only caught the last 15 mins, seems a good performance from the lads that

Been good most of the season

Not really. Since the turn of the year.

Good to see the likes of Mendy, Jones, Roberts and Eccleston have good games. Too often people are just "shite, get them out" about ressies and youth team players.

Just saw the last 20 minutes and glad I did. I know Wisdom is good, but Sama has really impressed me recently. Both have been well coached, it's obvious. The two full backs looked very decent too - as did the usual suspects further forward. Still not sure about Coady though. He looks slow and cumbersome to me.

Oh and thought it was a penalty at the end. A big two-footed challenge on Suso moments after the Adorjan through ball to Sterling.

I think suso's best position is coming off the right, when he doesn't hes not quite as affective, but Its good in a away because hes got more chance of starting on the right in the first team than he does in the centre. Yeah everyone was good Sama impressed me today too.

You missed them both, within about five minutes of each other first half, knocking long, flat diagonals over to either flank with their weaker feet.

Adjoran's touch and vision are extraordinary. i think with him it's a question of physicality. but his touch is just pure joy to watch.

suso has incredible feet and dribbling skills. played great on the right today...even made some good tackles.

sterling - yeh...not bad. almost scored a beauty of a goal.

wisdom - had one bad mistake but looked solid and actually seems to have real good instincts offensively too.

sama was beastly. did he put a wrong foot all game?

coady - still undecided on this boy...not sure if he's got what it takes to hold down the midfield area at the first team level.

roberts - seems a decent, but not sure what type of player he is.

mendy - was very good...seemed to play above his ability today. have to see more of him.

eccleston - great movement, works hard....don't really see him ever making an impact for us at the first team level though. good little player though.

and the other fullback - i can't spell his name - started off a little weak but got stronger as the game went on. not a bad player but i still think smith has more in his locker...and we all know how good flanno is.
brad jones - great save to start the game...didnt have to do much after that but i saw him play recently in another game and he really isnt that bad of a keeper.

Attitude and dad in Ince's case. I agree though. They're both far more talented than some people would care to admit. Hard job for him to force himself through, but he's a better player than people would like to admit.  Eccleston reminds me a bit of Collymore.

Can safely say I think we don't need to spend money on our back four for a good number of years, so much depth in quality and potential.

Not sure about that, but a quick wiki browse has 615 senior appearences for Everton today, not including Mucha.

About 10 for Liverpool, most Eccleston.

Thought Sama was excellent today.

He was up against a very physical forward in Anichebe and he more then matched him both in the air and on the ground.

I'd love to see him go out on loan. The odds are so stacked against him in terms of getting a CB spot in our squad, Wisdom, Coates and Kelly alone would be counted as better prospects.

It seems a real shame to be saying it after he's put in such a good performance, but we really need to start thinking about getting his value as high as possible now and preparing for the eventuality that he leaves, as he probably will.

He's shown today he can mix it with the big boys, and he's shown he's got a lot of ability. Give him a stage to display it and his value could shoot up.

Cold hearted, but those types of sales can really oil the gears of progress for the academy.

Managed to watch the game today Suso's movement was exemplary and Raheem is on the horizon surely for a first team spot.

Lads did great against a team full of first team members, bit like the our first team in not taking our chances tho, at least 3 should've been netted but a good team performance back to front.

Suso and Sterling would both improve our first team.

Sterling---------Suarez----------Suso

That for me would be far better than seeing Downing or Henderson out wide.

They just need a chance, something we struggle to do with our youngsters.
