Always good to see Mendy not playing. ;D

Hopefully Saric gets some minutes and shows what he's about.

Saric on the bench for the last game of the season, at least we may see him once.
Would be nice to see him for 15 minutes or so.

Maybe he will make the bench for the U18s final.  (age eligible, but I don't know if we registered him or what the rules are exactly, I would think that he probably isn't registered)

Hopefully, considering his reputation, he'll be with the first team for pre-season.

Never noticed that - nice one. :)

Nemeth is with the first team. Here's his latest blog entry someone translated on .tv messageboard ..

29 April

My days have been really hectic recently so I have to say sorry to everyone for not updating my blog. We played the senior cup final on Monday and everybody was really up for it as the league turned out horribly this year and this was our only chance to win something. On top of that we lost the same final last year, because of penalties on a terrible pitch. For this reason I didn’t really expect a lot as the location was the same as last year. My fears were confirmed as the pitch was again terrible, but the atmosphere was great, there were a lot of supporters and the opposition was strong.

For me the game shaped up, like most games lately, to be a game where I had chance after chance, but I couldn’t convert any of them. Sometimes the goal keeper made an incredible save, sometimes I got past him only for the defender to kick the ball away from me, other times I was at fault or the surface tricked me. I was about to cramp up when 20 minutes to go Andras Simon came on, with whom we could finally start to create and from then on we had chances every minute.

Fifteen minutes from the end I could finally convert a pass, which meant a lot for the team and for me. With this goal we won the cup and I got a little bit of self confidence back. After the game everybody praised me, even the day after I was the centre of attention, in the papers as well, but deep down I know it wasn’t my best. Of course it feels nice to get all this praise and I know a great deal of it is to restore my confidence, which I do need, but I know had I been in good form, with perfect self confidence I would have scored three before half time in this game. Of course maybe all I needed was this goal to start a good run again.

I could have had the chance to start this run, because on Wednesday evening the team is playing Newcastle in the league, but I won’t feature in it.
I don’t know the reason behind this, they only informed me that instead of the game I’ll be training with the seniors.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."

Rafa.

Sounds very promising, hopefully we'll be a few up and he can get 15 minutes if he's on the bench. Fingers crossed for the lad.

I'd take a start like this on Sunday thanks!

I think El Zhar and Ngog's performances so far have shown the value of being in and around the first team even if you only get a few minutes every now and again.  It makes a difference in how you see the game.  I remember thinking the same last season when they played Villa - Harewood looked head and shoulders above the other 21 on the pitch because of his experience and decision making.  It's the little things that they are able to pick up from people who have been playing at the highest level for so long.  In my opinion anyway!

Edit:  Probably why Degen has looked a little out of sorts so far!

Considering the size on him Plessis should probably get a lot more from set pieces than he does.

Purely coincidental perhaps but he seems back in a bit of form now that Itandje has been suspended...
