I don't know anything about Blake but he does seem to be encouraging them to pass the ball. They tried to play it out from defense on every occasion against France, even though they got caught in possession loads. It seemed the Rodgers kind of mantra of I encourage you to play in this way and if mistakes happen I am the one that will take responsibility for them.
I'm not sure that's anything to do with Blake mate. If he wanted them to bring the ball out of the back then he could've played Chalobah in the centre and Dier (in what I think is his natural position) at right back. Anyways, we've got to recognise that simply wanting teams to play out from the back isn't a good philosophy if they're poorly coached in doing that. The other day you had players turning their back on Johnstone (sp) when he had the ball, and plenty of occasions where neither centreback actually moved wide to open up the pitch to move their way out, and you didn't really have a midfielder dropping in to make a triangle in the centre. Infact, one of the few times they did that the first half was at the start of the move that led to the goal.
There's an interview with Sterling being shown on LFCTV at 5 today. Haven't seen him do any interviews before as I feel he's been wrapped up and protected, rightly so. Be an interesting watch imo.
It'll be his first TV interview I think. I think he may have done one with England at the U17s, but he's done nothing really for the clubs TV channel or even the website.
