Hope he's second choice left back this season which means he'll get plenty of gametime. Don't need to loan him out just yet of we're willing to use him. If not another championship loan would be good for him. Get to see him at the u19's.

Anyone know why Wisdom pulled out? Will he be going to the final tournament? Hope Suso and Robbo get a game pre-season after they come back from the Euros.

Hope so!

I'm sick and tired of seeing Johnson, Flanno and Shelvey playing left back when they are DEFINITELY not left-footed

It is tough because when Johnson does play left back (and he does it well), it gives Kelly a chance.

I think with Europa we should have plenty of games to keep Robinson, Kelly, Sterling etc happy.  If they impress in that competition then they might force the players ahead of them out of the first team.

Robinson can be a revelation if he gets enough game time in my opinion.
I think I may be turning gay. That back heel & through ball to Enrique made me jizz like Ive never jizzed before. My fiancee has got some serious work to do if she wants to get me as excited as I do about Coutinho.

I agree and if Enrique doesn't produce his best form then Robinson could oust him.

He's better on the right. We don't have anyone better than him on the right. He should play on the right.

I don't know why Wisdom pulled out, but if it was because of injury, I'd imagine he'd go to the final tournament assuming that he is fit again.

It was interesting to watch the U19's and see who stood out. Robbo looked comfortable but for me not as sharp as he can be. He needs games. Chalaboah looked a good player as did both Keanes from Mau U. It's a real shame for Will Keane he has suffered that bad injury, to be honest, Manc or not I am gutted for him, as he has a lot of quality and to see a young lad;s career put at risk is sad to see.

Dunno if it's true, but my Manc supporting mate told me that a few days before he did his knee Keane had been told he was going to be involved with the 1st team next season. Massive shame for him.

Although its hard to care too much given who he plays for.

Ferguson said he was going to be in their first team squad this year, maybe Powell will replace him.

I know it's United but I can't be happy about a talented young lad doing his cruciate, I did mine as a not so talented young lad and it was awful not to play. Club rivallries don't go that deep for me.

Must be true then. Bet it makes all the more galling for the lad. Shows how highly he's thought of though. He always 'looked' like a goalscorer whenever ive seen him, much like Morgan does. You can tell when a lad just knows how to score goals.

Overall Id agree. Was solely on about his ability to find the net though. Both just seem to possess that innate ability to know where the goal is and how to put the ball there.

Agree save that Keane has done it at a higher level. Hope Morgo does too but not as sure. Keane was almost there.

By the way his brother is a good player too.

What's his record like at reserve level? I thought Morgan actually did alright last season for the ressies. Got himself 5 goals I think which isnt too bad considering he didnt really play all that much for them.

Cant say i've taken too much notice of Michael so I'll have to take your word for it.

I can only describe him as looking smooth in possession if you know what I mean. Tall, quick, plays well back to goal and finishes very well.

Maybe not too unlike Welbeck but perhaps not as physical.

I'd like to see Robinson 2-3 kg's of muscle. I reckon he's still to spindlely. A bit more strength will make him a quicker, stronger fullback that's less injury prone.

That extra muscle and good weight comes with age doesn't it, he's still only 18. Hopefully he can impress Rodgers enough early on so that he gets on the tour to the USA.

He needs that injury free run  now so he can keep his fitness levels high and then we will I think see the lad we have been waiting for. At 19 I think he can play 15 games for our first team comfortably and start to challenge Enrique.

Could be guaranteeing him playing time in the cups and whatnot.  I guess he's basically be our 3rd choice striker, after Carroll and Suarez.

Actually think signing him and then either leaving him there for a season or else sending him somewhere else on loan could be a decent idea. Especially if we do sign another striker.

Seems we really want this kid. At the time Finnish press reported we offered him a 3 year deal and wanted him for the start of pre season.
He was asked about his possible move to Liverpool after his first game where he got a hat trick and he said he thought long and hard about it but his decision was to stay for at least another year.

Actually think signing him and then either leaving him there for a season or else sending him somewhere else on loan could be a decent idea. Especially if we do sign another striker.

If he wants to stay in the Finnish league for a year we should definitive do this. Their league runs from about April to October so we could bring him over in January. He has 5 goals in 10 starts so far this season.

Maybe we'll get an agreement with him now but let him stay for another month or 2 to keep playing games in Finland, then get him over here a week or 2 before our season starts?  Who knows.  Would love to get him though.

One of the problems with Flanagan and Robinson for me is they aren't physically mature enough. If they both bulk up a little like Kelly has then I think they are more likely to be called upon.

If anything Kelly is too big to be a fullback. It's affected his pace on the turn and every time the lad tries to drive past someone from a standing start he seems to end up injuring himself.

I'd like us to start using him as our fourth choice center back starting there for Europa league and league cup games.

The lad is a centre half for me, pure and simple.

It would be like playing Mats Hummel's at right back. I mean, he could probably do a good job but at centre back he's quicker than most and also more comfortable on the ball.

Kelly is a wonderful prospect in almost any position across that back four - but surely his future is at centre back.

I think Kelly could grow into a player a bit like Ivanovic. Good option at either RB or CB and a fairly difficult prospect to deal with because of his physical size. Overall I wouldn't say his physical size is a disadvantage at all.

I always thought Kelly should have played at CB but now do see a very promising RB in him. Not saying he is there yet but the lad is a half decent footballer and gets in fantastic positions both going forward and at the back. If anything, with a bit of luck (maturity?!) He could have had a fair few goals the season just gone, couple of glaring ones Kop end spring to mind.

Not saying he couldn't end up play in the middle because I definitely think he can but a big part of me thinks he could really take it up a notch at RB over the next few seasons. I hope so anyway cus I rate the lad. Was sat low down in the Centenary against Lyon and although he looked slightly nervous he showed he was determined to prove his worth. Saw the same in Flanno when he first broke through and I love the determination and pure want that they both show.

Just think he would be a little more exposed at CB now. Still a few years away for me.

Since we're all weighing in I thought I'd give my take as well.

I think it's quite telling that Kelly plays CB for England, consistently.  He's always been one of the best in that position, and though we lack cover for RB I still think he'll eventually move to the centre.  Perhaps McLaughlin, in 2 years, will be ready for the position of covering Glen Johnson, but between the playing in the centre for his country and the fact that we've been linked with several versatile players who play RB/RW/CM, I think that we're also looking at possibly moving him inside, at least part time, this season.

Would be way too early for Pohjanpalo to be our 3rd choice striker. He's good for his age but needs at least two years before he's ready for the premier league.

Edit: And looking at his twitter, Foday is a big fan of the Heat and LeBron, so if we want him we should just get LeBron to give him a signed shirt or something haha.

Edit: And looking at his twitter, Foday is a big fan of the Heat and LeBron, so if we want him we should just get LeBron to give him a signed shirt or something haha.

Probably said half in jest, but we should be doing that. We should get him to give the lad a call. We've given this bloke a chunk of the club because he's good at netball. He can take 10 minutes out to get us a player if, for some reason, they're a big fan of his.
