I love Rafa as a manager, but taking on the owners was never going to be a winning situation if it wasn't for the supporters I'm sure Rafa would have been gone now, that is why he loves us and the club so much. The protest, the banners and the chanting have all made the owners think twice about getting rid of Rafa. The only problem now is that results are going westward and the gap between us and the top 2 is not getting any closer. The Owners will wait for the end of the season to do their dastardly deed to Rafa the only thing that could save Rafa now would be a 4th or 3rd in the league finish and a champions league win, which as we all know is a tall order, though not impossible.
Even if the unthinkable happened and we had old big ears for a 6th time and got a Champions League place for next year, would the owners grant Rafa a stay of execution? Would they open the cheque book for the summer and let him loose with £50 Million? Who can say. All I know is that Rafa has over come some great hurdles in his time at Anfield, 1-0 down to Olympiacos at Anfield in the Champions League, that FA Cup final, this years league stage in the CL everyone wrote us off, 3-0 in Istanbul at half time to AC Milan being his most famous, but is this a hurdle too big? I don't know, all I know is that Rafa can never truly be written off by anyone, ask those lads who got off at half time from Istanbul in the final if you don't believe me.
This next match against Luton is very important for Rafa and the club in so many different ways.
