It IS true.

His bone has not healed properly in his foot.

He went to Denmark to see a specialist the other week.

dont be scared mate, if we get this new fella today I have seen a few clips from him on youtube. 6ft 4 no nonsense defender, lets not rush Agger back we need him fully fit and ready to go when he is back, If we can manage until the end of the year then so be it, we need a year long Agger next season

He has been running for 3 weeks but struggling to kick the ball with any force. It is true that he has had different 'insoles' if thats the word. Moulded to the shape of foot and all that.

As for the career ending bit, surely not when you have heard quotes of 'last minute fitness test' at Luton. How the hell could you have a last min fitness test if potential career ending injury. The quote could have easily been 'not ready' - hope so anyway!!

Ive just found out that Agger over the past 2 months has tried over 5 different pairs of boots and still cannot run properly. There is a suggestion the injury is potentially career threatening, which is sad for the lad and sad for us if that is the case.
What's the source for this? hope it ain't that bad, but new signing will offset this latest blow. I reckon we miss Dan more than we would Carra, lack of pace wise etc

Or Alonso's, or Pennant's.. but clearly we've been shorter in stock in the centre of defence than in any other part of the team. Sami can in principle only play a game a week. And Carra has been less solid from the start of the season than he usually is.

Because of Agger's absence he feels less-secure  :-X

Can anyone shed further light on this?
There's no doubt his injury has been complicated given the time he's been out, but career-threatening for a metatarsal seems hard to fathom. Can they not put a pin in it or something?
Apologies for the medical ignorance here but this has me panicking a bit

Many players (redknapp and heggem, for example) have not only had tests, but played with what were career threatening injuries.

Just because he's close to fit, doesn't mean he'll not keep breaking down for two years with the same thing before stopping...

Danny Agger's probably on Bebo or Facebook if someone wants to get the lowdown on this injury...
Googled his injury and it seems he's on Bebo at least.
Can't get into it at work though so need someone else to try

Worrying news.

Looks like he could well miss the Chelsea or Inter clashes in 5 weeks time then.
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....

we can play this new signing if we get him which looks likely.

fifa rules state that only 1 january signing that has played in that season in a different european competition will be illegible to play in the champions league.

so he would be able to play for us in all competitions :)

Their injury problems are worse than ours I think.
I agree we need Danny back ASAP but at least we've a new recruit to bolster that area.
3 years ago, we were threadbare in the CL knockout stages but rose brilliantly.
People like Igor, Le Tallec, Carson all came in and produced inspired performances.
It may happen again, and this time we won't be as short in the first place.

i dont think that agger is 5-6-7 weeks away, i think its most likely to be 2-3 weeks off.

the good thing is, he's definitely able to walk and run on the foot, which means he can get physically fit to the standards of rafa's.

The story about trying 5 boots and only just running again, but not being able to kick a ball came from Rafa,in a radio interview over Christmas.Something to do with the sole of the boots putting stress on the injury.A fellow from The Times (Tony Evans?),a Scouser and Liverpool fan said today on talkshite, that he might be out for the season.

Fucks sake, why do we always seem to have these great players who get niggly injuries. All the players that have had a "similar" injury, and yet ours is possibly out for the season because of it.
