FFS! OK we had a play on, but when the keeper's due a red card you call him up for it ffs.

Torres probably should have done a bit better in fairness though.

We've been very good, totally dominant. But Sissoko has no place in the opposition third - has absolutely no composure.

And we are just inviting Newcastle back in it.

If our players wants to save their energy for the Porto game (looks like some of our players are), just fucking put 2-3 more goals in and we can all go home.  We have more than enough chances to wrap it up before half-time.

I'm a staunch Momo defender, but he's been really shite this first half.

Certainly his passing in the final third has been disappointing, but he's been a part of the reason we've had something like 80% possession.

We should be winning by more, hopefully we can wrap it up in the second half now.

On a positive note, Luca is playing very very well, and good to see Harry back.

Kuyt, for a change, played pretty well in the 1st half.

They showed a replay. It was top of the shoulders. Might get crucified here but i thought it was outstanding from Given. He got lucky with Nando missing the second chance, but the first was world class.

Goodness we've been sloppy. Normally Momo's lack of ability on the ball is overshadowed by the technical ability of others, but almost all our midfielders and forwards today are guilty of sloppiness under little pressure. I think we're lucky to be one up - other than that Torres miss, we've created nothing at all from open play, although dominated the game.

Game should be dead and buried, how often have we said that in the past.

Come on reds finish these useless fuckers off early doors in the second half. They'll go to pieces if we get a second, and it could end up 3 or 4.

Typical Allardyce performance from Newcastle, its like we are the home team. Great finish from Gerrard for the goal and his 3rd from a free kick in the Premiership this term. Harry Kewell and Torres look lively while Lucas looks comfortable in the midfield. Definite handball from Shay Given on the verge of half time which he'd have definitely seen red for had Newcastle not been at SJP. If we can get an early goal in the 2nd half we can shut up shop and start resting players for Wednesday night.

If we don't get 3 points it'll be footballs biggest ever robbery.

I'm so annoyed about the Given handball - the ref totally bottled it...big style.

We're playing so much better than them. Keep it up second half and we'll be fine.

Quite a few of our midfield players are swapping positions a lot.  Seems only Lucas has been asked to hold his position and do the 'Alonso' role of dropping back and picking up the ball from the center backs and then distributing it.

Newcastle have been poor though - or is it just because we're too good?  :-)

Harsh, but funny. ;D

Don't think he's having that bad a game to be honest. Poor on the ball as usual, but has helped tame any threat their midfield may have.

And we are just inviting Newcastle back in it.

surely that's tactical though i.e. instructions from the bench. They're use and possession of the ball is useless so if they start to push forward more that leaves more space and more chance for mistakes at the back by them.

No use complaining about the handball, Torres should have made it 2-0.

As for the half:

Momo has been a fucking liability at times.  It's obvious he is only there for an aeriel presence, why the fuck he keeps coming up to the edge of the box I don't know.

Sami has been fantastic, made 4 key interceptions.

Lucas has been like a more mobile Xabi, great game from him.

Torres bar his miss has been very good, a few good touches.

Kyut hasn't done much wrong, but he just lacks the class we need in the final third.  He never does anything that suprises, anything that will create a goal.

Liverpool needed to score another goal in the first half, had the posession but didn't convert.  Newcastle will be a different side in the second half, I think we will regret not getting that second goal.

I'd love to see Crouch for Momo and going 4-3-3, don't think it will happen though.

Good half, should be 2, but we can put this lot away.

Message for Black and White Paul to pass onto your peers. Just to clarify it's not all, but you have some real small time supporters. Booing Gerrard, the player they were probably all cheering against Andorra.

England that important for you Geordies? Your best player has NO interest in playing for you, only for his country - look at all the bother England games have caused him. And you still love the national side that much?

Maybe your own English players could do a better job? Smith? Oops not good enough. Owen? Maybe I shouldn't go there. Butt? I'll leave it there.

Going to boo Crouch when he comes on?

Oh and the BOOOOOOOOOO's at half time sum you lot up. Your a decent bloke, but you got some fickle nobs following your team.
 :wanker

Minor squibble. More importantly we're playing well.
