Gotta love the ethics of the FA.
Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
"Come in", She said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

I wish.

I've got to say, this is pretty shitty from Ferdinand.

His "advisor" informs the press..... Ok it's just him basically...

But, how disrespectful is this to a young player making his first move into the England team?  Basically what he's saying to the kid is "you shouldn't be there and I should".... I don't care if he's right in that, he shouldn't say it, it's just not fair on Kelly.

Fwiw I think given his injury record there isnt a chance in hell of Ferdinand being around for 2014 so maybe he's been sidelined with that in mind.  That's a longer term football reason rather than a shorter term footballing reason.

Also hugely disrespectful is Richards who had a childish hissey fit and refused to be on the stand by list.   Cock.  You either want to play for your country or you don't, fucking ego is ridiculous I only want to play if I'm guaranteed to start.... He's not near the end of his career he's young ....

And lastly, the utter joy of watching the press realise that the vision of hodgson that they have pressed for for several years now has lead them to an incompetent bumbling idiotic old fool who will drag the name of "their" team through the dirt with embarrassing statements.   And it will come as a surprise to them!!

Amen.

Watching Rio get murked by Roy should be funny, but the fact the FA politics are protecting that concrete-arsed piece of rancid scum taints the whole thing.

Not for me. It's fucking great. The whole situation is a massive fucking embarrassment for all concerned. The shitegobs at the FA clearly didn't foresee a situation where so many CB's would be ruled out of contention and now the whole thing has bitten them on the arse. Who's next? Tony fucking Adams? What a laugh!

Something about not getting any respect from Hodgson I think, not sure of the exact phrasing but it might be in this thread somewhere.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. Agreed.  The guy is an utter bellend.   Talk about a sense of entitlement.  Kelly is the future of England and kudos to Hodgson for recognizing this.   And, for the record, I don't think he's right.   But, as you say, even if he was, he should stfu.  Where has people's sense of serving their country gone?  It's all about me, me, me for modern day players.   There have been better players than him in the past that were left out of the English squad for whatever reason - e.g Le Tissier, maybe the most talented midfielder of his generation (other than Barnes) never really got the chance to play for his country on an significant level.  Did he throw his toys out of the pram and spit venom at the manager - no, because it was a different era.  We still had some standards left.

Completely agree.

There aren't many things better than the FA being exposed for being the horrible, corrupt, racist c*nts that they are whilst Hodgson gets stick, Rio still misses the Euros and Terry is vilified too.

Perhaps if you'd spoken up against your lying scumbag of a team-mate when he made up racist claims and got a player banned for it then I'd have some sympathies, but you didn't, so go fuck yourself.

Hope Terry, Ferdinand and the FA all fucking rot.

scheden... schadean... schadan... ah, fuck it, chickens coming home to roost motherfucker. English FA make huge deal out of racism, decide to chuck the book at a foreigner, then when their own captain gets accused of racism (accused mind you) they decide to sell him down the river to maintain consistency (fuck all to do with principle as clearly demonstrated by their own willingness to ignore the principle of guilty until proven innocent). Result, they force their own manager into a corner and he is forced to quit (something the FA are happy to do, since he is too 'foreign' for their own liking, as demonstrated by their desire to recruit an Englishman - is that racist?). Now look where they're at, getting rid of their most successful manager in years and replacing him with a goon who drops one their best ball-playing midfielders because he can't guarantee him playing time and can't bring one of their best ball-playing defenders into the side because of the rigmarole with Terry. Capello would have just put a lid on the whole thing and ignored it for the greater good, but Hodgson is such a  pussy he allows the FA to set the agenda for him. Meanwhile the England side has gone from a well-organised, effective side to a rabble smashing balls long at every opportunity and sitting so deep they can't see the opposite stand. Tis all highly amusing so it is.
Beatings will continue until morale improves...

Utterly classless from Ferdinand come out with that statement (quelle surprise)... however, he is right.  The excuse given for leaving him out was a joke, we knew it at the time, but people played along because there are only so many places and Cahill and Lescott have played well.  To select Kelly ahead of him based on "footballing reasons" is a joke, as Martin only played a few games for us last year (18 in total, to Rio's 38 for Utd).  If it were me, I would have taken Kelly in the original 23 man squad and gone with a very young team with the World Cup in mind, but Roy didn't do that.  The idea that Roy is selecting Kelly because he is interested in giving experience to youth is preposterous.  If he was going to do that, the likes of Henderson and Kelly would have been selected ahead of Terry, Parker, Barry and Lampard in the first place.  Let's face it, Rio has been left out so that the guy who (allegedly) racially abused his brother can lead England's defence in the Euros.  What makes it so much worse is that Roy lied about it, saying it was footballing reasons.  Horrible man.  I would have preferred him to be honest, just come out and say "There is a controversy there, a difficulty between the players so I can only select one to ensure a good team atmosphere and I choose Terry based on his form."  The injuries have caught him in his lie.  I hope Lescott gets a knock, just so we can see Roy squirm and blather about how Ryan Shawcross had a better season than Ferdinand.

Does anyone doubt that if Terry had gotten injured, Rio would have been called up?

Spurs when?! The first thing that comes up when I even look for a Rio Ferdinand foul against Spurs is Suarez kicking Parker. What year are you referring to?

To be fair to you - it's when you watch games live that you see him with his usual last man back fouls. As you probably 'watch' your games on Match of the Day and Goals on Sunday (Where they never show them) that's probably why you've never 'noticed' them.
Football has reached the ninth gate of farce and pathetic, unbelievable trite nonsense. It's supposed to be a game and it's turned into pantomime, hype, quilts and bellends.
