Looking forward to the UK Open which gets underway tomorrow. Preliminary, first and second rounds take place tomorrow before a random draw will be made, for Friday, with the 32 winners from Thursday's matches and the top 32 in the UK Open Order of Merit from the qualifiers which are:

1    van Barneveld, Raymond £14,000
2    Newton, Wesley £13,800
3    Taylor, Phil  £12,000
4    Jenkins, Terry £8,400
5    Smith, Andy £8,200
6    van Gerwen, Michael £7,400
7    Dolan, Brendan £6,600
8    Pipe, Justin £6,200
9    Whitlock, Simon £6,200
10    Hamilton, Andy £5,200
11    Huybrechts, Kim £5,200
12    Chisnall, Dave £5,000
13    Winstanley, Dean £4,600
14    Lloyd, Colin £4,200
15    van der Voort, Vincent £4,200
16    Thornton, Robert £4,000
17    White, Ian £3,800
18    Smith, Michael £3,800
19    Smith, Dennis £3,800
20    Painter, Kevin £3,600
21    Caven, Jamie £3,600
22    Cullen, Joe £3,400
23    Jones, Mark £3,400
24    Priestley, Dennis £3,200
25    Lewis, Adrian £3,000
26    Hubbard, James £3,000
27    Burnett, Richie £2,800
28    Webster, Darren £2,800
29    Howson, Richie £2,600
30    Anderson, Gary £2,400
31    Part, John £2,400
32    Dowling, Kevin £2,400

As always there will be loads of boards in action with plently of big names such as Nicholson, Wade, Webster and of course Ted Hankey! Always an interesting event with the open draw and it's a great opportunity for the lesser known players to have a run in a TV event.

Sky will be foccusing on the main stage and the line up is:

Board One (Main Stage)
Preliminary Round
Tony West v Michael Burgoine
Steve Beaton v Jon Jukes
Arron Monk v Paul Boulton
Steve Brown v Michael Barnard
Gino Vos v Paul Harvey
Ted Hankey v Danny Dutson

First Round
Wilson/Roith v Wayne Jones
S Farmer/J Lewis v Mark Stephenson
Paul Nicholson v Miles/Melling
Maish/Solly v Adam Hunt

Second Round
Mark Hylton v Antonio Alcinas
Mark Webster v Johnny Haines
James Wade v Lawrence/Robinson/Durrant/Bunting
James Richardson v Jim Walker

Best of seven legs is going to have the big names worried. My tips to go well are Dave Chisnall and Kim Huybrechts.

Unfortunately (for him) he didn't get that much exposure as the camera had zoomed in on Thornton. I think as they grabbed him a light or something smashed because it made some noise and I'm certain there was a flash.

To be honest I had noticed that normally there is a security guard standing at the steps and there wasn't during that game.

Love the Matchplay as well. Quality all the way through with it being the top 16 in the Order of Merit against the top 16 on the circuit who aren't in the 16.

Taylor looks to have a lovely draw so difficult to see past him. Can see him breezing through before a SF against Chizzy or Newton. The bottom half looks a bit more interesting and think Barney might come through that side. Certainly a few tasty prices in the bottom half with the likes of Burnett at 100/1 looking quite good value.

Phil Taylor    13/8

Adrian Lewis    12

Dave Chisnall   12

James Wade    12

Simon Whitlock    12

Raymond Van Barneveld    14

Gary Anderson    20

Wes Newton    33

Kim Huybrechts    40

Justin Pipe    40

Terry Jenkins    50

Mark Webster    50

Andy Hamilton    66

Robert Thornton 66

Mervyn King    66

Paul Nicholson    100

Richie Burnett    100

Dean Winstanley 100

Kevin Painter    100

Michael Van Gerwen 100

Ronnie Baxter    100

Colin Lloyd    100

First Round
Saturday July 21
7.10pm Paul Nicholson v Andy Smith
8.00pm Terry Jenkins v Kim Huybrechts
9.00pm Adrian Lewis v Robert Thornton
10.00pm Raymond van Barneveld v Michael Smith

Sunday July 22
7.10pm Mark Walsh v Colin Osborne
8.00pm Kevin Painter v Steve Beaton
9.00pm James Wade v Richie Burnett
10.00pm Simon Whitlock v Michael van Gerwen

Monday July 23
7.10pm Andy Hamilton v Brendan Dolan
8.00pm Vincent van der Voort v Ian White
9.00pm Phil Taylor v Mervyn King
10.00pm Mark Webster v Colin Lloyd

Tuesday July 24
7.10pm Justin Pipe v Joe Cullen
8.00pm Wes Newton v James Hubbard
9.00pm Gary Anderson v Dean Winstanley
10.00pm Dave Chisnall v Ronnie Baxter

Loads of very good, close matches and I'm sure a lot of the seeds will tumble in the first road given the quality field. Game on!

Just read about Taylor walking out of his match because of the fat chanting from the crowd. Never saw it live so how bad was it?

The problem now is that he has shown that the crowd can get to him and it's only going to get worse in the anti-Taylor crowds.

Darts legend Phil Taylor walked off during a semi-final match after spectators made fun of his weight.
The 15-times world champion was playing Raymond van Barneveld at the Shetland Masters on the Scottish island when the incident happened.
'The Power' has lost two-and-a-half stones in recent months after changing his diet and said afterwards that he felt he took a necessary step.
"I want fans to come to the events and to enjoy themselves," he told the Daily Telegraph.
"It's fine for them to support a particular player, but it goes too far when the abuse is personal.
"I was upset by some of the comments being aimed in my direction, which was why I left the stage, and I apologise to the majority of fans that I wasn't able to finish the game."
A fan amongst the 700-strong crowd told The Sun about the incident that so enraged Taylor.
"He (Taylor) was getting dog's abuse from fans who obviously wanted Barneveld to beat him.
"Somebody shouted something from the crowd and Phil just walked off.
"The abuse he was getting was terrible, some of the people shouting were obviously drunk."
