Trump came back to the table with 4 snookers required, has two of them so far.

O'Sullivan beats Williams 13-6.

Fuck the Mancs, Higginson's won the first two frames of the final session. Could go all the way this.

I still can't get my head round why a player who is 3 or 4 snookers down gives up so easily. Why not give it a go? Obviously Trump had to give it a go today but there was that 3-0 moment today with Carter punching the air - I had to stay and watch it as I thought Trump would win it.

I don't read any newspapers whatsoever. And I find your post quite fucking offensive. The bellend was caught on camera accepting money to cheat. Set up by a scumbag newspaper maybe, but he still done it. So, unless you have another idiotic comment to make, we'll leave it there.

The irony (is it irony?) here is that he was found NOT GUILTY of cheating or accepting bribes. If you fancy - you could read this and maybe avail yourself of a few facts. I know you don't read anything but it shouldn't take long.

Higginson has pulled back the first 4 frames of the session to level at 10-10 against Jones. Should be an exciting finish.

Hazell.

Who is going to win the comp mate?

Ronnie?

Ronnie looked good against Williams but so did Robertson against Gilbert. Maguire's been sound as well. I'd think it'd be the winner out of O'Sullivan and Robertson - that should be a cracker and O'Sullivan is obviously favourite for that but I reckon it'll be tight. So yeah, the winner of that match IMO.

Yeah, he seems focussed and played tremendously well against Williams. Who knows with him though? Also, Robertson's playing well so it won't be easy IMO for O'Sullivan regardless of how he's playing. That match is too close to call given how both have performed. If pushed, I'd say Robertson to win but there might be a bit of bias in that.

Ronnie won't win it. He's not interested. He's kind of interested but he can take it or leave it.

He 's probably at his most dangerous of course with that.

Quarter Final's underway tomorrow:

Maguire v Hendry
Jones v Carter
O'Sullivan v Robertson
Day v Stevens

Looking like the winner will come from the Ronnie v Robertson match but plenty of dangerous players left in. Fancy Maguire to come through the top half now but would like to see Hendry do it.

Of all the players left, I'd like Maguire to win it, given he never has before and he seems like a sound bloke. Then again, I like Robertson and Carter and O'Sullivan is simply great to watch when he's playing like he has this week. Hendry winning again would be amazing as well. If not them then Jones or Stevens. So anyone but Day really.

Could barely take my eyes off the two matches this afternoon despite needing to do work in the library. Stevens did really well despite a great effort from Hawkins, but the Trump/Carter match, dear me! That'll take some beating this year. Interestingly, it's kicking off a bit with them and their post-match comments. I like both so it's difficult, but it's nice to see Ali finally doing so well, with his appearance at the final as well... in 2008, was it?

I'm delighted that Stevens and Day are both making a comeback at this year's event. One of them will definitely be in the semis which is great stuff indeed. Would have probably fancied Day before the match today but thought Stevens played some excellent stuff, so with his experience I'll actually back him to shade it. I think the winner of O'Sullivan/Robertson is clear favourite for that semi though, but then anything could happen. So difficult to call that one, I'll give Robertson the slightest of advantages... call it about 51-49% in his favour. Really hope he goes through because I like him quite a lot and dislike Ronnie a whole lot.

The top half of the draw is less entertaining unfortunately, but I'd like to see Carter go through to the semis in his game, though it's nice to see a rookie like Jones make it this far and possibly further. If he gets Maguire then I'd like to see Carter make the final too, and I'll be hoping he wins it if he comes up against Ronnie (but not against any of the other three).

Then we have Maguire/Hendry. I would love it, just love it, more than anything else, for Stephen Hendry to win the whole thing. I think he stands a good chance in this quarter final. I don't think he'll go through, truth be told, but it's not an easy one to call. Should be fairly close, hopefully. And if he was to win this then you'd just have to wonder... I think he'd be well up for the semi and quite possibly win it. Seeing him in another final would be enough, it would be incredible.

Something like Hendry vs Robertson in the final would just be perfect.

After reading what hazell has put I think I am going to back Ronnie.

The winner comes from the Ronnie v Robertson game for me.

If Ronnie is on his A game then let's be honest he is the best player in the world. Robertson will be danagerous and is a good player.

This is very interesting - shame Trump didn't get through and it would of made the top half even more exciting.

Snooker needs this - top players back on form and taking the game seriously again.
