Despite all the hardships we've been through in the last couple of years, this quote only comes out now?
Where was that quote when we we lost to Blackpool at Anfield?
If anyone 40+ can remember Shankly saying that then I'll happily admit I'm wrong and back off.
This is absolutely pointless but anyways.
You do realize that he lived 68 years and that he managed football teams for 32 years including 15 with LFC and it would be impossible to capture everything that he said over the years.
Only a small fraction of his thinking has ever been published and there are many, many more things that he said over his managing career that will never be known but it is also very likely and possible that many of his thoughts/quotes, through transcripts, letters and discussions with people that knew him well, will eventually be published just like long time written and forgotten songs, books, paintings etc. and that quite easily may be the case here.
You have no evidence to support your claims that he didn't say that as he is not alive to comment nor you ever knew him so just drop the entire subject.
This discussion is not appropriate for this thread as people come here to comment on the quality of someone's work and nothing more..
